hahaha the pictures of you both on the teacups are too funny! And I love love love the picture of the ferry boat with the haunted mansion in the background! so awesome!
Great update!!! I have to admit the pics of you guys on the tea party makes me ill just to look at...I cannot handle rides that spinDBF LOVES tea party type rides, but it will be closed when we go next week
Ah, you gotta love the MK when it's not busy! (Of course, we all love it when it's busy, too, but you know what I mean!)
I'm like you with the spaghetti thing. I even like it when it's bad.

I'm so glad you two had a good time...now that I think back on what we were doing that day, we had this "flu" that went around between all the women in our party. My DP got it first and she got the night before y'all were having such a beautiful day at Tony's and the MK. It seems to me too that it rained like hell the night before! Anyways, we had Epcot in our plans and I sent my parents there to explore it on their own while I stayed at the Villa with DP taking care of her. I also spent the whole morning going to various pharmacies trying to get prescriptions filled for things that were not available in FL. Good Times!![]()
Your MK day sounds like it was so much fun! Kudos to you and your DH for being able to ride the tea cups...I don't do spinning rides and DH doesn't like them either! My parents and my sister do, so they took all the kids on it in July. Gee...I didn't even like the Tricera Top Spin at AK 2 years ago, but my older on begged me to go on it, and DH was busy riding EE so I had no choice...I just couldn't say no to that face that was looking at me with a big smile, saying "Pleeeeeease Mommy?"
Sounds like you arrived at a good time at the MK too! You avoided the madness of RD (although I never experienced it in the slow season..probably much better than in the summer!), but you still got there early. Isn't it wonderful to just walk right onto the rides in Fantasyland without any lines? In July 2008, we walked right onto Peter Pan's Flight a little after 8am, when it was an EMH-morning...by the time they were opening the park to everyone at 9am, the wait was 50 minutes! That was when I walked right onto Big Thunder, and DH went right after me (both boys were too small for BTMRR in 2008). Oh, and I also LOVE Philharmagic...it's adorable, and nothing beats Donald Duck's butt sticking out of the back wall at the end!
Looking forward to reading more!
Tricera Top Spin...isn't that the one kinda like Dumbo at MK? Now the Primeval Whirl on the other hand...that was almost the death of me in 2008!All I remember from that ride was that I was laughing hysterically because DH kept saying "Oww" and "Ouch" at every turn! It was fun, but you get thrown around in your seat bumping the side, then your dizzy from the spinning, then it starts to spin you the other way...aye aye aye, no mas Primeval Whirl!
How can you say no to your precious children right?! That's what I'm afraid of when I get older. I read somewhere that when women have children, (now I don't know the correct terminology but i'm gonna try it anyway), that the liquid in their ears/head that controls their equilibrium, is not as good as BEFORE they have children, so they tend to get dizzier/off balanced easier. If that's true, i'm not sure how i'm gonna do on Dumbo or the Tea Cups when I have kids. I mean, it seems easy enough right now, but i'm sure it will be torture when the actual time comes!
What I LOVE about Philharmagic is that glorious smell!!!What was it now..apple pie or cinnamon?!? I don't know it's something like that. It made me want to run over to The Boulangerie Patisserie in France and eat every single thing that they sold!
.....hmmm, am I missing something? Donalds butt sticks out? Like from the screen?? Do tell!
Hello! I have read some of your review and it is great so far! We are going to Disney in January and also staying at Coronado!! How did you like it, and how did you find the bus service to be? I am nervous about that aspect, since it is such a huge resort
I can't wait to read more!
Looks like the tequila affected your DH more than you. I'm enjoying your pictures. And yes, pasta is great comfort food.![]()
Oh gosh! There is nothing worse then being sick on vacation! I know how that feels. Especially in tricky weather like we had that week! Poor thing. I hope you tell me that she gets better the next day!
Yes she did get better the next day, and was going stir crazy so went to the MK. But we could have easily walked past each other Friday night at Epcot. After spending the day in the room I went to meet my parents in Epcot for dinner at Teppan Edo. We finished dinner around 9:30PM and were on our way out of the park, and we exited walking passing Mexico.
Hey do you mind if I steal some of your shots for the PTR that I'm working on? I'll certainly give you credit for the pics...There's a lot of place where you dined that I'm considering on our trip for next year's F&W festival, at least the part where we hope to stay at the VWL. I hope to go live with in in the next week or so.
please let me know when you'll be starting your PTR so I can go over and subscribe!![]()
Last time, we did not ride Soarin' but I really wanted to say I have ridden it in both parks, so we grabbed FP's since the line was a little long (15 mins. We're spoiled!) and decided to ride The Seas with Nemo and Friends!
Hi!!! I'm all caught up on your park days now! I haven't been on the DIS as much since school started, but somehow I still manage to check in!
That's right, school just started for you! Was it last week that it started? Hope it's not too hectic as of yet!
Yes, Tricera Top Spin is exactly like Dumbo at MK, but I don't like rides like that. We were at Sesame Place last month with the boys, and they both wanted to go on Elmo's Flying Fish ride. I didn't want to go (usually DH goes on rides like that with them), but both boys were too short to go without an adult, so DH went with DS5 and I went with DS3. I didn't like it, but smiled the whole time for my little guy. I never heard anything about women and they equilibrium after having children, but I haven't really enjoyed rides similar to Dumbo since I was a kid, long before I had children...so I don't even know if I am affected. For me, it's more because I have this horrible phobia of throwing up (irrational and kind of nutty, I know!), and I guess I just associate rides that go 'round and 'round with the possibility of throwing up. Probably also why I don't go on large roller coasters...fear of getting sick on them. And forget about when I virus is going around...a little girl in my younger son's class went home sick this morning (the daughter of one of my friends from work!), and so of course now this is all I can think about because they took her to the doctor today and she has a stomach virus.
A little random and weird fact about me....you will NEVER see me eat a meal without something to drink. I have a fear of choking! Now THAT'S crazy right there!
I used to be scared to death when I was little of going on bigger rides for fear of getting sick too (I think it was when I saw the Sandlot, when the boys swallowed the chew and started throwing up on that spinning ride
) Then I realized, a lot of it was psyching myself up and I eventually loosened up before going on stuff, and i've never been sick (knock on wood, right?!)
Oh gosh, that's exactly what you need right now is a virus!!! Gosh!
OK, now that all of you know how crazy I really am......
So, you had a blood orange margarita at Cava del Tequila! My DH had one of those at San Angel when we went there for lunch and he absolutely loved it! I like the traditional frozen margarita so I had one of those and it was amazing...very strong and very good! Makes for a nice boat ride afterwards!
That's what we forgot to do! The stinkin' boat ride through Mexico!!!Uggh, next time. I was just thinking, it would be so neat/cute/fun if they had a separate boat that was an 'adults only' boat, where you can take your cocktail on! Imagine, just sipping on your margarita while watching Donald!
Would probably never happen!
I also love Spaceship Earth, and I am still fascinated that it is inside that huge golf ball! The first time I went on it was back in 1985 when I was 8 years old. DHS and Animal Kingdom didn't exist yet! It was the first time my parents took us to WDW, and my grandparents were with us. My sister and I loved that ride, and we thought it was so cool that it was inside the park's big icon! My sons loved it too! DS5 says that it's tied with Test Track as his favorite ride in Epcot! I also love Test Track! I convinced my dad to go on it (he used to race cars many years ago), and he loved it too and said he can't wait to go back to WDW just for that and Soarin'!!
I'm with you...while I love love love MK, I think Epcot is truly my favorite WDW park. I just love all the countries, they definitely have the best food, and there are so many cool things to see in Future World! That's why I need to spend more than one day there. We talk about only spending one day at DHS next time, but still 2 at MK and at least 2 at Epcot. That's also why we chose Boardwalk as our DVC home...we love being able to walk 5 minutes and be in the World Showcase!
We HAVE to have at least 2 full days at Epcot and 2 full days at MK. DHS and AK can be 1 day a piece, but we spend the majority of our time at MK and Epcot. Future World is so neat! I want to spend more time in Innoventions next time for sure!
I think I'm going to launch it once my DP gets out of the hospital (hopefully by the weekend), 3 joints replaced in less than a year, maybe she can go on rides again!
Oh goodness! Here's for a quick recovery!![]()
What did you think of Soarin' in Florida? I was relatively traumatized when I rode it (also this same week you did). I figured out why it hit me that way finally, oddly enough while I was driving through downtown LA a coupld months ago. You go all over our beautiful state and then you fly up the 110 (a drive that I make often enough that the skyline makes me feel "at home") and then you go back to DisneyLAND, with the Matterhorn, our "little" castle, and IASW behind the Matterhorn. You walk out into Condor Flats and I know that I am less than 1/2 an hour from home, my kitties and everything dear to me. Well getting off that ride that has been near and dear to my heart since DCA opened, and stepping out into an Epcot Pavillion, my kitties are far far far away, and I won't see them for almost another week!![]()

Ya you're right! It's really weird getting off the ride you've been riding for years now, to get off Soarin' at WDW! It's like, where's the ramp that takes us up and outside?!You'd think they'd at LEAST change the very last scene and show Cinderella's castle rather than Sleeping Beauty's you know? It couldn't have been that much more expensive to film that kind of scene!
I know what you mean about your kitties! I have one too! Her name is Lil' Ma and she's my darling! She usually sleeps at the foot of the bed, so during in our entire trip, I'd get up in the morning to get ready for the day and she was never there!
I just got this pang of heartbreak and swore that I would never ride that ride so far from home again.Perhaps that's a little extreme, but it was a weird very real feeling!
Great updates! Narcoossee's looks amazing...I spent a lot of time before my last trip trying to decide between it and Citrico's, and went with Citrico's (which was awesome). Next time, I'll have to switch it up!
Seeing your Epcot pics made me so excited to be there in a few weeks! No cheddar cheese soup and mushroom filet for me, though, unless I get real lucky and something opens up. Le sigh.
