Food, Fun, and Frivolity: 8 Funtabulous days w/pics! UPDATE 1/20 HELP!!!!

hahaha the pictures of you both on the teacups are too funny! And I love love love the picture of the ferry boat with the haunted mansion in the background! so awesome!

I'm so glad you two had a good time...now that I think back on what we were doing that day, we had this "flu" that went around between all the women in our party. My DP got it first and she got the night before y'all were having such a beautiful day at Tony's and the MK. It seems to me too that it rained like hell the night before! Anyways, we had Epcot in our plans and I sent my parents there to explore it on their own while I stayed at the Villa with DP taking care of her. I also spent the whole morning going to various pharmacies trying to get prescriptions filled for things that were not available in FL. Good Times! :lmao:

Your MK day sounds like it was so much fun! Kudos to you and your DH for being able to ride the tea cups...I don't do spinning rides and DH doesn't like them either! My parents and my sister do, so they took all the kids on it in July. Gee...I didn't even like the Tricera Top Spin at AK 2 years ago, but my older on begged me to go on it, and DH was busy riding EE so I had no choice...I just couldn't say no to that face that was looking at me with a big smile, saying "Pleeeeeease Mommy?" :goodvibes

Sounds like you arrived at a good time at the MK too! You avoided the madness of RD (although I never experienced it in the slow season..probably much better than in the summer!), but you still got there early. Isn't it wonderful to just walk right onto the rides in Fantasyland without any lines? In July 2008, we walked right onto Peter Pan's Flight a little after 8am, when it was an EMH-morning...by the time they were opening the park to everyone at 9am, the wait was 50 minutes! :scared1: That was when I walked right onto Big Thunder, and DH went right after me (both boys were too small for BTMRR in 2008). Oh, and I also LOVE Philharmagic...it's adorable, and nothing beats Donald Duck's butt sticking out of the back wall at the end! :lmao:

Looking forward to reading more! :)

Great update!!! I have to admit the pics of you guys on the tea party makes me ill just to look at...I cannot handle rides that spin :rotfl: DBF LOVES tea party type rides, but it will be closed when we go next week

:lmao: Yeah, it's been a loooong time since I rode them! And honestly it really wasn't too bad! Well, I guess it being closed will be a good thing for you then right?! :rotfl2:

Ah, you gotta love the MK when it's not busy! (Of course, we all love it when it's busy, too, but you know what I mean!)

I'm like you with the spaghetti thing. I even like it when it's bad.

:rotfl: I'm so glad i'm not alone with the spaghetti obsession! DH thinks i'm crazy, but it's comfort food...comfort food that I can have everyday if it wasn't so fattening!

I LOVE MK!!! Regardless of if it's pouring, hot or cold. It's my all time fav place and I wish I could be there right now!!

Thanks! I think I was just randomly taking shots of everything and of course you can't see how good it really is on that little 4 inch screen on the camera, so when I uploaded it to my computer, I was so glad that it turned out great!

You're RIGHT!!! It was raining HORRIFICALLY! Of course, I love rain! (except for if i'm flying) but to me it's so calming and soothing (and keeps the crowds away! :thumbsup2 ) Oh gosh! There is nothing worse then being sick on vacation! I know how that feels. Especially in tricky weather like we had that week! Poor thing. I hope you tell me that she gets better the next day!

Tricera Top Spin...isn't that the one kinda like Dumbo at MK? Now the Primeval Whirl on the other hand...that was almost the death of me in 2008! :rotfl2: All I remember from that ride was that I was laughing hysterically because DH kept saying "Oww" and "Ouch" at every turn! It was fun, but you get thrown around in your seat bumping the side, then your dizzy from the spinning, then it starts to spin you the other way...aye aye aye, no mas Primeval Whirl! :lmao: How can you say no to your precious children right?! That's what I'm afraid of when I get older. I read somewhere that when women have children, (now I don't know the correct terminology but i'm gonna try it anyway), that the liquid in their ears/head that controls their equilibrium, is not as good as BEFORE they have children, so they tend to get dizzier/off balanced easier. If that's true, i'm not sure how i'm gonna do on Dumbo or the Tea Cups when I have kids. I mean, it seems easy enough right now, but i'm sure it will be torture when the actual time comes!

What I LOVE about Philharmagic is that glorious smell!!! :cloud9: What was it now..apple pie or cinnamon?!? I don't know it's something like that. It made me want to run over to The Boulangerie Patisserie in France and eat every single thing that they sold! :lmao: .....hmmm, am I missing something? Donalds butt sticks out? Like from the screen?? Do tell!

Sorry everyone for the delay! I'm working on my next installment right now.

Hello! I have read some of your review and it is great so far! We are going to Disney in January and also staying at Coronado!! How did you like it, and how did you find the bus service to be? I am nervous about that aspect, since it is such a huge resort

Hi! :)

Yes, Coronado is big, but it's such an awesome resort! What I did, was make a request to be placed near Bus Stop #2 (which is the first stop to be picked up and the first to be dropped off) and it worked great, except for a few times, where we found ourselves waiting for a bit. If there isn't anywhere you want to stay specifically, I would recommend staying in the Casitas since you will be close to Bus Stop #2. It's also close to the Fitness room and the Laundry room. Don't even worry about the bus! You'll have a great time! If you have any more questions please feel free to ask!! :goodvibes

So after our spin in Wonderland, we headed over to Tomorrowland Speedway! :drive:

I decided to let DH drive...big mistake :lmao:. I'm recording on my camcorder and all you can pretty much see the entire time is a bunch of blurred nonsense! Then he decides to pull a rendition of "Back to the Future". You know, the scene where the car doesn't start and he hits his head against the steering wheel and it starts and then takes off? Yeah, so he decided to stop in the middle of the track and pull this little stunt of his. Luckily there was no one behind us!

100_1064.jpg

This is the only picture I have of the Speedway. I took this pic because the guy looked EXACTLY like DH's dad!

We then made our way over to Space Mountain. Sorry but Disneylands' Space Mountain is way better. There's music (I hear though that have/are added music ), and it's very rickety. Although I do LOVE that you get your own seat!

Then we decided to do another first: Carousel of Progress. I pretty much know the script from listening to Mouseworld radio on Live365 so I knew kinda what to expect. So we go through the first two 'scenes' of the show and the seats start to move to the third 'scene', when all of sudden we stop moving. And we're sitting there for maybe 5 minutes. Someone announces, "Sorry for the inconvenience, however, we must reset the ride." I didn't know, that in order to reset you must start from the beginning. And I mean the beginning of the FIRST scene!! ....so that was pretty much the longest ride of my life. :lmao: Great nonetheless!

We decide to head back to Frontierland to use our FP's for Thunder Mountain that we got earlier in the day. But why not get some Photopass Shots done on the way to Frontierland!

Here are some of our shots first:

So we ride Thunder Mountain with no wait and it's now around 4:30. We decided to head back to the room to rest for a little bit before our dinner at Narcoossee's!

We arrived back at the room at 5pm and logged in our hours up till that point: 4.42 miles. Seemed like we walked longer but whatever. So we get changed and head out to the bus stop around 6, for our 6:55 ADR. We arrive in good time with some extra time to spare for pics of the GF!

After dinner, we decide to head out to Epcot, since they had Extra Evening Hours that night.

First stop: La Cava del Tequila!!! I was so stoked to come here! Everyone on the Dis gave rave reviews about this place, so it made this place even more appealing to me!

IMG_0809.jpg

IMG_0814.jpg

I ordered a Blood Orange Margarita (to die for) and DH had a flight of Tequila tastings. He enjoyed them (duh!). I wanted to come back another night because I enjoyed this place so much!!! Little did I know, that later that week, we'd be back...with a vengeance! :rotfl:

We wanted to ride on something slow, easy, and long. SPACESHIP EARTH!

I know there are many Diser's that aren't too fond of this attraction, but I really enjoy it! I think it's neat that we're actually in the 'globe'! I remember when I was planning our first trip in 2008, I had read that there was a ride inside that big ball and I was amazed that a ride could actually fit in there!

Anyways, here's our pic at the end of the ride:

(DH and I were cracking up at this shot of him! :rotfl2: )

IMG_0826.jpg

By now, it was 11:30 and we were pooped. We didn't do too much here at Epcot for two reasons: One, I was in heels from dinner and Two, we had planned on coming to Epcot in the morning. So we decided to go 'home' and go to bed. We had logged in a total of 7.01 miles that day. Not too bad right?! I was so excited for tomorrow! Epcot day and the infamous Le Cellier meal!!

Looks like the tequila affected your DH more than you. I'm enjoying your pictures. And yes, pasta is great comfort food. :)

I can't wait to read more!

Hi! More is definitely coming your way in the morning!:thumbsup2

Looks like the tequila affected your DH more than you. I'm enjoying your pictures. And yes, pasta is great comfort food. :)

Lol! Ooooh yeah it did! :lmao: He's funny! Oh my gosh, we have pasta twice a week here at home...I can't help it! It's easy and fast to make, AND it tastes sooooo GOOD!!! :yay: :lmao:

Oh gosh! There is nothing worse then being sick on vacation! I know how that feels. Especially in tricky weather like we had that week! Poor thing. I hope you tell me that she gets better the next day!

Yes she did get better the next day, and was going stir crazy so went to the MK. But we could have easily walked past each other Friday night at Epcot. After spending the day in the room I went to meet my parents in Epcot for dinner at Teppan Edo. We finished dinner around 9:30PM and were on our way out of the park, and we exited walking passing Mexico.

Hey do you mind if I steal some of your shots for the PTR that I'm working on? I'll certainly give you credit for the pics...There's a lot of place where you dined that I'm considering on our trip for next year's F&W festival, at least the part where we hope to stay at the VWL. I hope to go live with in in the next week or so.

Oh my gosh, you're right! We could have totally passed each other!!! I'm glad that she felt better the next day! :goodvibes

ABSOLUTELY you can take any pics that you want/need! I'm happy that others can use my photos for their own needs and not just mine! :) and please let me know when you'll be starting your PTR so I can go over and subscribe!

Epcot Day!

EEEKKK! How I love Epcot! Honestly, if I could only spend one day in a park, it would have to be Epcot. I know, I know, MK is the epitome of "All things Disney", but there's just something so magnificent about Epcot. The rides are fantastic, the food is scrumptious, and the park is so huge, you never feel like you're in a crowd!

We didn't make actually RD, but we arrived around 9:30am (the park opened at 9am). First thing???

IMG_0829.jpg

Oh yeah, baby! Love Test Track! We grabbed FP's and went in the standby line. This ride rocks! I know a lot of people would rather have went straight to Soarin', however, we have that over at Disneyland.

Next up?

IMG_0830.jpg

IMG_0831.jpg

Kinda boring, yet nice if ya catch my drift. It's one of those ritual rides that you have to do when you're at WDW. So we got it out of the way early!

Last time, we did not ride Soarin' but I really wanted to say I have ridden it in both parks, so we grabbed FP's since the line was a little long (15 mins. :lmao: We're spoiled!) and decided to ride The Seas with Nemo and Friends!

IMG_0834.jpg

IMG_0833.jpg

Such a cute ride. I really like this one compared to the submarines over at Disneyland. This ride is a fast loading ride and it's spacious. I feel so claustrophobic in the submarines and it takes FOREVER to get into and out of a sub!

it was still a little early for our lunch at Le Cellier at 11:45, so we took our time heading over to Canada.

---Le Cellier---

I have to end it here because I have a LOT of pics from this day so I'll have a few more installments of mostly pics! :cool1:

Hi!!! I'm all caught up on your park days now! I haven't been on the DIS as much since school started, but somehow I still manage to check in! :goodvibes

Yes, Tricera Top Spin is exactly like Dumbo at MK, but I don't like rides like that. We were at Sesame Place last month with the boys, and they both wanted to go on Elmo's Flying Fish ride. I didn't want to go (usually DH goes on rides like that with them), but both boys were too short to go without an adult, so DH went with DS5 and I went with DS3. I didn't like it, but smiled the whole time for my little guy. I never heard anything about women and they equilibrium after having children, but I haven't really enjoyed rides similar to Dumbo since I was a kid, long before I had children...so I don't even know if I am affected. For me, it's more because I have this horrible phobia of throwing up (irrational and kind of nutty, I know!), and I guess I just associate rides that go 'round and 'round with the possibility of throwing up. Probably also why I don't go on large roller coasters...fear of getting sick on them. And forget about when I virus is going around...a little girl in my younger son's class went home sick this morning (the daughter of one of my friends from work!), and so of course now this is all I can think about because they took her to the doctor today and she has a stomach virus.

OK, now that all of you know how crazy I really am...:rotfl2:...

So, you had a blood orange margarita at Cava del Tequila! My DH had one of those at San Angel when we went there for lunch and he absolutely loved it! I like the traditional frozen margarita so I had one of those and it was amazing...very strong and very good! Makes for a nice boat ride afterwards! :lmao:

I also love Spaceship Earth, and I am still fascinated that it is inside that huge golf ball! The first time I went on it was back in 1985 when I was 8 years old. DHS and Animal Kingdom didn't exist yet! It was the first time my parents took us to WDW, and my grandparents were with us. My sister and I loved that ride, and we thought it was so cool that it was inside the park's big icon! My sons loved it too! DS5 says that it's tied with Test Track as his favorite ride in Epcot! I also love Test Track! I convinced my dad to go on it (he used to race cars many years ago), and he loved it too and said he can't wait to go back to WDW just for that and Soarin'!! ;)

I'm with you...while I love love love MK, I think Epcot is truly my favorite WDW park. I just love all the countries, they definitely have the best food, and there are so many cool things to see in Future World! That's why I need to spend more than one day there. We talk about only spending one day at DHS next time, but still 2 at MK and at least 2 at Epcot. That's also why we chose Boardwalk as our DVC home...we love being able to walk 5 minutes and be in the World Showcase! :thumbsup2

please let me know when you'll be starting your PTR so I can go over and subscribe!

I think I'm going to launch it once my DP gets out of the hospital (hopefully by the weekend), 3 joints replaced in less than a year, maybe she can go on rides again! :cool1:

Last time, we did not ride Soarin' but I really wanted to say I have ridden it in both parks, so we grabbed FP's since the line was a little long (15 mins. :lmao: We're spoiled!) and decided to ride The Seas with Nemo and Friends!

What did you think of Soarin' in Florida? I was relatively traumatized when I rode it (also this same week you did). I figured out why it hit me that way finally, oddly enough while I was driving through downtown LA a coupld months ago. You go all over our beautiful state and then you fly up the 110 (a drive that I make often enough that the skyline makes me feel "at home") and then you go back to DisneyLAND, with the Matterhorn, our "little" castle, and IASW behind the Matterhorn. You walk out into Condor Flats and I know that I am less than 1/2 an hour from home, my kitties and everything dear to me. Well getting off that ride that has been near and dear to my heart since DCA opened, and stepping out into an Epcot Pavillion, my kitties are far far far away, and I won't see them for almost another week! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I just got this pang of heartbreak and swore that I would never ride that ride so far from home again. :rotfl2: Perhaps that's a little extreme, but it was a weird very real feeling!

That's right, school just started for you! Was it last week that it started? Hope it's not too hectic as of yet! :goodvibes

A little random and weird fact about me....you will NEVER see me eat a meal without something to drink. I have a fear of choking! :rotfl: Now THAT'S crazy right there! :rotfl2: I used to be scared to death when I was little of going on bigger rides for fear of getting sick too (I think it was when I saw the Sandlot, when the boys swallowed the chew and started throwing up on that spinning ride :lmao:) Then I realized, a lot of it was psyching myself up and I eventually loosened up before going on stuff, and i've never been sick (knock on wood, right?!)

Oh gosh, that's exactly what you need right now is a virus!!! Gosh! :sad2:

OK, now that all of you know how crazy I really am...:rotfl2:...

I like the traditional frozen margarita so I had one of those and it was amazing...very strong and very good! Makes for a nice boat ride afterwards! :lmao:

That's what we forgot to do! The stinkin' boat ride through Mexico!!! Uggh, next time. I was just thinking, it would be so neat/cute/fun if they had a separate boat that was an 'adults only' boat, where you can take your cocktail on! Imagine, just sipping on your margarita while watching Donald! :lmao: Would probably never happen!

I also love Spaceship Earth, and I am still fascinated that it is inside that huge golf ball! The first time I went on it was back in 1985 when I was 8 years old. We HAVE to have at least 2 full days at Epcot and 2 full days at MK. DHS and AK can be 1 day a piece, but we spend the majority of our time at MK and Epcot. Future World is so neat! I want to spend more time in Innoventions next time for sure!

I think I'm going to launch it once my DP gets out of the hospital (hopefully by the weekend), 3 joints replaced in less than a year, maybe she can go on rides again! :cool1:

Oh goodness! Here's for a quick recovery! :wizard: :flower3:

What did you think of Soarin' in Florida? I was relatively traumatized when I rode it (also this same week you did). Ya you're right! It's really weird getting off the ride you've been riding for years now, to get off Soarin' at WDW! It's like, where's the ramp that takes us up and outside?! :lmao: You'd think they'd at LEAST change the very last scene and show Cinderella's castle rather than Sleeping Beauty's you know? It couldn't have been that much more expensive to film that kind of scene! :rotfl: I know what you mean about your kitties! I have one too! Her name is Lil' Ma and she's my darling! She usually sleeps at the foot of the bed, so during in our entire trip, I'd get up in the morning to get ready for the day and she was never there! :sad2:

I just got this pang of heartbreak and swore that I would never ride that ride so far from home again. :rotfl2: Perhaps that's a little extreme, but it was a weird very real feeling!

:rotfl: I know EXACTLY what you mean though!

Great updates! Narcoossee's looks amazing...I spent a lot of time before my last trip trying to decide between it and Citrico's, and went with Citrico's (which was awesome). Next time, I'll have to switch it up!

Seeing your Epcot pics made me so excited to be there in a few weeks! No cheddar cheese soup and mushroom filet for me, though, unless I get real lucky and something opens up. Le sigh.

:lmao: @ Le sigh!

Ya Narcoossee's was really good, just next time i'm FOR SURE getting the Whole Maine Lobster! :thumbsup2 I thought Citricos was THE BEST!!!! :cloud9: For food, service, and atmosphere, Citricos was it!

Ahh how nice you get to go in a few weeks!! You'll have a blast and hopefully the weather will be nice! You must report back here and let me know how the weather is because DH gets a week off in October (this year it's the 11-15 of October) and we want to do the F&W Festival, but I want to see what the weather will be like! So please come back and tell me! :worship:

Hey! Not trying to hijack you TR, but I just started my PTR online, DP came home today
music-045.gif
and so i figure why not launch it!

Hi again!! I agree with you...I definitely want to do more things in the Innoventions pavilion...I think when the boys are a little older they will enjoy it there very much. Probably on our next WDW trip...they will be 5 and 7 when we go back. I also want to try the Behind the Seeds tour at Epcot on the next trip. It looks really cool, and it's not a long tour. I think they would enjoy getting to see the greenhouse more. They loved the Living with the Land boat ride! When they get a little older, we want to take them to Disney Quest too. Maybe when they're 7 and 9.

Don't worry....you're not crazy! I think a fear of choking is more normal then a fear of throwing up. Oh and guess what? My little guy did get a stomach virus. :scared1: Thank goodness no vomiting though (knock wood!). However, I lost track of the number of times I washed my hands this weekend! Today DH is at school all day (going for the administrative license so he can become an assistant principal) so I am taking care of the boys by myself, trying to keep calm, etc.

I highly recommend the boat ride in Mexico after having a margarita...very fun! I don't think they would turn it into a "booze cruise" :rotfl2: though! ;) Although, I would be the first one on that ride if they did! :lmao:
