Was playing golf with a friend last week who has a supplier in the states. (not drugs) ha ha

anyway we got talking about the exchange rate and he said he always goes to his bank and asks for business rates. As you know these rate are far better. Has anybody tried this? I would imagine anybody with a business account would get this rate no problem, don't know about current a/c.

If you don't ask!

It does often depend on the amount of money you're changing up. I've found with some banks it's above £5,000 they will quote a "corporate rate" and for others it's £10,000 . It is usually significantly better than the rate they quote in their foreign exchange booths.

I think with Barclays it's £25,000 but you only get the rate if your doing a transfer, not just buying currency.
