Thanks for that. Interesting read. Last year was our third festival and we managed to actually keep track of our spending. We ended up spending a lil over $420 between 2 of us. We made sure to stop by every booth, share most food items we ordered and get a beverage for maybe every other booth or every second booth. Such a great festival that we will be attending again this year. But can totally see how the spending can get out of control.

Not that we plan to eat and drink everything, but perhaps I need to expand the budget a bit.

This is what we plan also. Considering it's most of our meals for the trip, few if any, ADR, I don't think it's bad at all.

We (my boyfriend and I) buy every food item available at the booths. However, we do skip most of the desserts and we don't get something to drink at every booth. He's somewhat into the beers and I'm into the cocktails, but we mostly drink bottled water as we make the rounds. (We save our serious drinking for the resort lounges after the parks close.)
