Ill be traveling to Disney next week. A few years ago I read a post about a company the delivers non perishible(sp) food to Disney resorts. Does anyone know the name of a company that does this?

Thanks

Christine

I think you are talking about the Wego..something delivery service. I think they have recently sold out of the business to friends and I don't know if they are up and running yet. I am sure someone here will know.

Hi, We used wegoshop.com 2 weeks ago. We found that we didnt need as much as we thought as the dining plan was sooo much food but the grocery service was great. Do a search and you will see lots of posts on them. They shopped and delivered to the hotel then the CMs at the hotel put our stuff in storage in the fridge. When we checked in the bellman went, got our stuff and brought it to the room. All I had to do was put it in the fridge. When we checked out I left a ton of unopened food in the fridge - the housekeeper was very happy and the bellman was really thrilled about our extra bottled water!

I used www.goodings.com and loved it, other people swear by www.wegoshop.com, but I think the OP is asking about www.netgrocer.com. I've never used them, but I've read here that netgrocer SHIPS non-perishable foods. Goodings and wegoshop deliver groceries fresh from the supermarket, so they are able to deliver perishables. When I made my choice, I found Gooding's superior because we didn't have to schedule our delivery. From what I understand, wegoshop delivers to your room, so you have to be there when they deliver. Gooding's delivers to Bell Services; you never see the GOoding's delivery person. When BS gets your delivery, they call your room. If you're NOT in, they store your groceries for you, including keeping your cold stuff cold (Gooding's separately bags and labels cold stuff). BS leaves a message for you to call them when you get in so they can get your groceries to you.

I guess an advantage of netgrocer is no delivery at all, just pick up a package at the front desk. An obvious disadvantage is that they only ship non-perishables, but then again, that's what the OP was asking about ....

I used wegoshop in October and I just want to clarify that they will deliver to bell services or to your room whichever you prefer. Some people like to check the quality of fruits, lunchmeat etc and prefer the personal delivery, others (like me) are ok with bell services.

I had a late arrival so I scheduled it for bellservices. I found wegoshop to be cheaper than goodings and you can specify brands as well as the store you would like them to shop.

Also if you want beer/wine wegoshop will deliver that as well, Goodings will not. I just faxed a copy of my ID and it was waiting for me with the groceries. My wegoshop order was waiting for me at checkin - everything was perfect and the price was reasonable.

Sort of off topic, but does anyone know if wegoshop will email you list of the products that they can pick up for you. I shipped a box of non-perishable food for DD on our last trip, but DH told me last night that he would really like it if we could have beer or wine delivered to our hotel in January since I was a little mean on our last trip and gave him a hard time about purchasing alcohol at the Pop food court (so expensive for really bad beer!).

We're such great parents (not!) :rotfl: ..."hi wegoshop.com! Can we order some beer and organic babyfood from you!"

You really don't need one since they will shop at any store you like and buy just about anything you need. They are not a store in themselves but instead they have shoppers who actually go to the store and purchase the items. The fee is based on the $ of your order and IIRC there is an extra fee for more than one store. I just made a list of the items I needed by looking in the pantry and fridge. I used brand names and sizes and got everything I asked for.

The website is easy and friendly and they are prompt at returning e-mails so your best bet is probably to contact them to see if they will work for you.

You can also try www.gardengrocer.com. This is a new company that started in August and it recently became a sponsor DIS with an ad on this page. Folks on the DVC board have been discussing it do to recent dissatisfaction with wegoshop (though wegoshop now has new owners transitioning in). I plan on giving gardengrocer a try on our upcoming trip.
