has anyone eaten at Riverside Mill food court since it has been refurbished?
the new menu looks pretty good but is it as good as it sounds?!
thanks!

We were there a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed the food court very much. The breakfast was good. I liked the make your own yogurt parfait (and it was only a snack credit and large IMHO, $3.79). We had dinner there twice and it was typical fast food fair. But on the good side of fast food fair. We liked the atmosphere and always had plenty of room to find a table.

This was our first onsite experience so I can't speak for any other food court except Pepper market which we enjoyed very much as well.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

We really like the food court, especially the Taco Salads. Yum!

We loved it 2 weeks ago. The create you own pasta station is wonderful and huge serving. I remember telling my DH that I would have been happy with that pasta if I had gotten it for a TS meal. The create your own salad is also very good (you can add chicken or beef along with tons of other great stuff).

We were there in May right after the remodel...the pasta station is WONDERFUL!! You can add chicken or shrimp to your pasta and a choice of a large variety of other items such as mushrooms, garlic, broccoli, peas, onions, etc. The carved meat (beef/turkey)in the evenings looks and smells good also...however, we did not try it. I really miss the red beans and rice, ribs, chicken, etc. that was previously on their menu...I wish the menu was more "Orleans" like....but since it is not, i would say that POR and the Poly (capt'n hooks) have the best CS menus going....just my 2 cents....have fun and EAT MUCH!!

The turkey and mashed potatoes are out of this world. We went there for them twice on our last trip.

Turkey and mashed potaoes!! We stayed at POR in Sept. My In-laws went with us and two days after we got there my MIL didnt feel good and didnt leave the hotel for the next 7 days. They would go to the foodcourt and my FIL got the turkey dinner EVERY day! He loved it! The meals we ate there were very good. Breakfast (I though) wasnt all that good but dinner very good. The make your own salads were my favorite my DH loved the chicken fingers and fries. Have fun.

Food court at Port Orleans Riverside is one of the best. We stayed at Port Orleans and Caribbean beach this year and the food court at Caribbean beach was not very good.

We loved the Create your own Pasta station so much that
since we've come home we are doing that same type of supper.
We call it PORT ORLEANS PASTA. We ate that on about 5 different
nights and didn't get tired of it. :thumbsup2

We liked it - there is a large variety there. One of the better food courts at WDW IMHO. I really liked the make your own salad, and the omlettes at breakfast were really good. I love those breakfast potatoes!

Yep. We were there two weekends ago. :sad2:

I don't typically revolve my trip around food but this was the first thing we typically do when we arrive at POR (go to have a Taco Salad for lunch). arggh.... Oh well, I'm sure we can find something else to replace it. :)

No taco stuff and no phillycheese steak sandwich anymore either.

We were there at then end of Sept.

One thing I didn't like is the picks for the kids. They had individual pizza there but you could only get them on the adult plan not the kids so I had the chicken fingers and my dd had my pizza. ( this is on the dining plan)

Omelets are good in the morning.

I have not been there yet, but when I was researching the menus for our next trip, I think I noticed POFQ had taco salads. Not sure if they are the same, but if so, maybe you could walk over there for one . . ?

Ok - the steak sandwiches were our second favorite!? We're not doing the dining plan next trip, I just don't see the value in it anymore. My kids really don't like "kids food," which actually posed a bit of a problem when we went on the dining plan last trip. They like steak, fish, adult foods. I'm sure it will be fine though. Wonder if they still have the standard applesauce with every kid meal. That was such a waste...I felt so bad.

Yes they still have the applesauce I usually gave it back. My kids don't like it. I thought it was a waste too. At POR we got french fries with the chicken fingers and carrots because you get two sides. Then when we asked about dessert for her they were going to take the carrots away and give her a cookie. :confused3 Times are a changing on the plan....

We had free dining so it was alright but my son is 10 now and considered an adult on the plan so we probably won't buy it.

We did this a lot when he was still 9 we did a lot of switching meals, I ate his and he ate mine.

They don't have the taco salads anymore. We loved those as well.

They have taco salads at the FQ and they were pretty good...you could pick what you wanted in it, too.

They have Philly cheesesteaks at FQ, as well. They were made to order and very tasty. They will even add mushrooms if you ask. Marinated, grilled chicken sandwiches were great. I found the FQ food court superior to Riverside's.
