For the movie theaters, are only the purchased foods (the popcorn, snacks, etc) allowed in the theaters? Or can we bring foods that we get from other parts of the ship? Will be on the Fantasy. Thanks!

You can bring any food. On our last cruise, people were bringing in plates of food from Flo's. Nobody said anything.

on our cruise last year on the Wonder (March 2016) we were stopped and told we were not allowed to bring the large hot pretzels into the Walt Disney Theatre.

Just did the Wonder (Feb'17) and didn't see any problems with people bringing food/drink from Deck 9 with them into the Buena Vista (Movie) Theatre. Cleaning up after one's self is always a nice courtesy of course.

Not sure about the Walt Disney Theatre for the big evening shows, but I saw plenty of Deck 9 drink cups there too.

In all my cruises I've always seen people bring food/drinks from deck 9 to the Buena Vista Theatre as well. It's no big deal.

I saw a family get stopped with ice cream cones coming into the Walt Disney Theater. Cast member asked them to finish them outside or throw them out.

We have only ever eaten popcorn, candy brought from home, and drinks in the theaters.

My experience, you can only bring snack foods (candy, chips, popcorn, drinks) into the Walt Disney Theater. I have seen people with french fries denied.

I have seen full on meals in the Buena Vista theater, but it's been sort of hit or miss, depending if you make it into the theater before there's someone manning the door. Also, what their take on the food policy is.

We were denied entrance to both theatres (at different times) when we had food other than snacks. I can't say that they always monitor and prevent it, but don't be surprised if you're told no.

When we did the ship tour, they told us that the new food "policy" was that "light things" can be brought in, whereas "heavy things" could not, because they clean with forced air or vacuum or something. I don't remember if that was for both theaters or just the one. I also don't know if the guy giving the tour was making it up or if I was dreaming. I've never heard that before. But that is what the CM leading the tour told me.

I see no problem with food being bought in as long as the people doing it are considerate when doing it, which I see most people as being. On our last cruise Fantasy, just 2 months ago) there was a family who I wished had been stopped from bringing in food. We were watching the movie Moana and they came into the very full theater after the movie had already started carrying plates of food. It wouldn't have been bad, except since they came in late they weren't able to find seats all together. The mom kept getting up to get more food, then she kept asking the other people in front and behind her to pass things to her kids, they also talked all during the movie. I've never seen any others being so rude as these people and hope I never do again. We have brought the room service cookies into the Walt theater before, yum!
