Food and Wine festival... waiting.... patiently... not!! :)

The information is finally posted on the disney web site.

There is some additional information that wasn't on the DDE brochure.

The V&A Signature dinner:

10/20 French Rarities - Victoria and Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Cost: $300 per person (plus tax, includes gratuity)

At first I throught "WOW". But a regular dinner at V&A would be almost $200 a person. So the price increase is sort of in line with the prices for the other Signature dinners.

Anyway, this one is fair game for everyone. :teeth: I am not trying for it.

Well "rarities" does seem a good title - my money is rare, its rare I'd spend that much per person on a meal....

I hope someone here does take advantage of it, and reports back!! I imagine if they sprinkle things with gold, that would be "rare" or expensive!! (I know on the news they report the most expensive _______ on a menu, like a drink made with" real gold" :confused3 )

Thanks for the update!!

Monday will be my first time calling for Food and Wine Fest events - I plan to be calling in right at 7 am along with everyone else :teeth: In reality how long can I expect to be on hold ? LOL - I know it will be busy with calls. Is it usually a long wait to get through?

Thanks :sunny:

Good question, you could be on hold for a minute or two, or an hour or longer, you just never know.

I figured as much - I guess it is the luck of the draw when your call goes through. Good thing I have DSL - I'll be able to surf the Dis boards while onhold :sunny:

Wow! :earseek: I would rather have private dining set something nice up for less than $600. Victoria and Alberts is $100pp with wine paring another $55. They also offer the Dining Experience 20% off which would pay for your tip. Much less than $300pp.

I need phone number to make ressies for additional cost Food & Wine events. I didn't see the number on the Events list, just that they start 7/31.

I can't find phone number to call for Food & Wine additional cost events. Please send me the number. I don't want to miss it. I called last year and was on hold about 20 minutes.

I believe it is 407-WDW-3378. Don't call now, because it will redirect you into Disney Dining. I tried yesterday and got the usual "Welcome to Disney Dining. We're glad you called..."

Then the woman with whom I spoke told me that number would not be in operation till 7/31.

Here's the number I got.

I believe its posted to call wdw dining - and expect it to be like the CRT calling (you can read the hints above) I know when I called for the CRT breakfast when it was just 90 days advance I was on hold for an hour - I'm expecting the same thing on Monday - but honestly for the Party for the Senses since it holds 1200 and with the increase, I'm sure it will not sell out the first week, its the wine pairings that hold 30 that will sell out...

and I agree I'd rather do the wine pairings at the chef table at V&A or a private dining experience than to pay the $300 per person for the "rarity" meal, I'm just thinking of all the rare treats... is Dom Perignon Champagne "rare" (of course I know Dom, is so "yesterday"...) what other exotic rare foods are there - surely white truffles are "rare"... I'm thinking of some of the rare foods shown on the Iron Chef - something that you couldnt afford to buy, and it wouldnt be at a "local" restaurant or grocery store... for $300 anyways...

I know this is silly, but I just keep thinking of that exotic part of the semi poisonous blowfish Homer Simpson eats at the sushi restaurant, lol. 300 is a lot to spend when you don't know what the menu is.

On hold 10 minutes the first time and the call dropped, on hold again 15 minutes so far.

I may just surrender and let it go. The only thing I will be upset if I don't get is the Party and I don't think it's going to fill up.

According to the voice in my ear. CRT has just sold out!

I just hung up. I got the Party on the 14th (Of course now I am going to have to find a place to sleep, my DVC reservation is for the 15th!) I also go thte Food and Wine at Morroco on the 17th and the Cheese & Wine on the 14th. (The last is in great danger of cancellation, I don't know if I dare do both of those on the 14th.)

Yeah...All done, now back to bed...4:00 is really too early for me! :goodvibes
I got everything I wanted...Only waited 30 minutes.
Sweet Sundays
Kitchen Conversation on October 6
Chefs A'Field on October 7
and Party of the Senses October 7.

Good luck everyone!
