I noticed this in the description of the food and wine festival -

BREWERS DINNER
Beer lovers will delight in this dining event designed to celebrate the diversity of beer. Featuring recipes from casual to elegant with beer as the main ingredient, you’ll also enjoy various brews served with your meal.

The price is $55.00 per person including tax and gratuity and takes place from 4:00 to 6:00pm. The schedule is as follows:

America Pavilion – Boston Beer Company with brewers from Samuel Adams

10/13, 10/27 and 11/10

Rose and Crown – Stella Artois and Boddington’s Beer

10/6, 10/20 and 11/3
------------------

I'm wondering if anyone has been to this or knows about it - we will be there on 10/13 and the idea sounds good in general, but I'm wondering if it is only Sam Adams beer, because I wouldn't be very interested if it was just Sam Adams - would there be other domestic microbrews or imports? I'm wondering if "various brews" really only means various Sam Adams beers. Has anyone had experience with this in the past? I would call and ask but I think someone would just read me this from a computer screen.

Thanks so much for any info -

DR

I just signed on to post this exact question:D I thought my husband would really like it and on 10/13 as well:) He is a Sam Adams fan so it would work out even better. But would it be strange if he was by himself?

Looking forward to any info on this:D

Last year the dinners featured strictly international beers. The Sam Adams tie-in is new for this year.

Given the description, "America Pavilion – Boston Beer Company with brewers from Samuel Adams," I would expect only beers from the Boston Beer Company. I really can't imagine the brewers from Samuel Adams offering competitors' beers. But the Boston Beer Company brews a wide range of Samuel Adams beers:

Boston Lager
Boston Ale
Pale Ale
Cherry Wheat
Cream Stout
Triple Bock
Sam Adams Light
Octoberfest (August - October)
Winter Lager (October - February)
Double Bock (January - March)
Spring Ale (January - March)
Summer Ale (May - August)

I was wondering this same thing. I'm not a fan of beer, but would go if my DH would be out of place by himself.

If Sam Adams is hosting..then it will be only sam adams beer..that only makes sense. This is the first time sam adams has hosted a brewers dinner.

Sam Adams beers are some of the best there are..we are definately looking forward to this.

Tell you hubby to enjoy by himself if you don't want to go, or you could always go..and let him have all your beer..lol. I am sure the food will be worth going for alone!

Thanks for the insights - I really appreciate it. We've decided to skip it since it is just Sam Adams, and hope to find a Belgian stand somewhere instead - if anyone goes, would you mind coming back and telling us how it was? I'd really be curious to read about it.

Lisa, my DH and I are scheduled for the dinner on 10/13. If your hubby still wants to go, we can make sure he has someone to talk to (or imbibe with heehee :drinking1: )

We would all love to find a Belgium stand somewhere..lol.
That hasn't happened yet. Since the import laws have changed in FL, disney can certainly bring in the larger bottles.

I guess we could all email them..maybe they would consider a Belgium beer dinner next year..it would be a great addition to the two the already have.

If you decide the dinner is not for you, watch for the short event that goes on in the afternoons. We were strolling around a couple years ago and it happened to be starting. It is right in front of the American pavillion, they do a brief talk from one of the Sam Adams folks about beer making and then do a sampling of 4 maybe 5 different kinds of their beers. They were all good, and it was very interesting to hear. I'm sure the dinner is an expanded version of this. I was actually surprised how many kinds of beer they offered and how different each was. I'm not a beer person but really enjoyed this.

There was also a free tasting/seminar at UK last year. It filled up quick. Hoping for a repeat.
