Excuse if this question is answered anywhere else I'm quite sure it is but can't find it quickly.

It will be my first time at USO and IOA, since I know foods and drinks can be quite expensive in theme parks, can we bring some snacks and drinks inside the parks, will I need to throw them out at a security check like I had to do at Cedar Point last year, and spend 30-40$ each day to feed myself inside the park, would they tolerate a bottle of water and some light snacks.

Please, oh please, don't link to a thread with the answer if the thread as many pages on it I don't want to read 15 pages just to get the answer I'm looking for.

You will be fine. Just make sure you don't bring in glass bottles or alcohol.

Wow, my friend had a different story, good to know he was wrong, he was there in june 2008, I was there too in Orlando but didn't have the money to get a ticket or Flex Ticket for Universal at that time, only Disney for me in 2008 (I loved the whole trip), and he saw people get their food confiscated and throwed in a big trash can, maybe they were just prohibited items after all.

Anyone can confirm its the same at Sea World and Aquatica ???

Maybe thats what he seen cause I have been going every year since 2005 and always took in bottle water and sodas and never had any trouble and more than likely he may have seen them try to bring in food from one of the places from citywalk cause I am pretty sure thats not allowed since you can get the same kinda food inside the parks :thumbsup2

So I won't have troubles with a plastic bottle of Coke and some chips or light snacks in my backpack.

You should be fine cause I have never seen them not allow that and have bought plastic bottles of coke and water from citywalk and took it into the parks and never took or made me throw them away :thumbsup2

Here is what is posted on their website:

Acceptable items:
•Bottled water
•Small snacks that do not require heating
•Any food required for medical purposes and medically–indicated nutritional supplements
•Any food required for special dietary needs
•Baby food/baby formula
•Soft-sided insulated bags no larger than 8.5" wide x 6" high x 6" deep

Prohibited items:
•Picnic lunches
•Food that requires heating or refrigeration
•Alcohol and glass containers
•Hard-sided coolers
•Soft-sided coolers larger than 8.5" wide x 6" high x 6" deep
•Coolers, suitcases, and bags with wheels

If others reported food/drinks being confiscated, it may have been because they tried to take in a huge cooler, an entire picnic lunch, or alcohol or glass bottles. You should be fine with sodas and snacks.

seriously, many - many - many peeps take food/beverage into the parks.

just think of the one's that have small kids or someone that is low blood sugar and needs snacks...........

and those that have family members that are always hungry with the munchies.....

as long as you don't use glass containers or have alcohol, you will be fine.

Thanks for everyone, will be sure to pack some home made sandwichs from our room, would be a lot cheaper than meals on the property which are probably overpriced like everywhere else.
