Anyone have a current list for food allergies in the parks? Wheat, dairy, soy? Or who should I call/email?

I already talked to DD and they had me leave a message for the chef of goofy's kitchen (alle?). He hasn't called back. They said there wasn't any one person in charge of allergies anymore. I know I can talk to the chefs/managers when we walk into each restaruant, but that really doesn't help me much. DS is VERY picky, so I need to plan and pack meals from home rather than waiting and hoping for restaurants to make things on the spot.

Plus, we'd really like to know if there are any holiday goodies safe for him to eat. I don't imagine they're gonna make allergen-free cookies and such on the fly for him! ;) But if I already know there's nothing safe for him, I can make some special things at home and bring them in with me. :santa:

I can only provide a mini-answer to your question. I called last week to ask for a copy of the allergy food list. I called Disneyland Dining and then was told to call "the park" so I spoke with a lady who was sitting in an office behind city hall. I asked if I could get a copy of the list sent via email so that I could have a copy before we arrived. She took my email address and was going to look into it. I haven't received anything yet. I do know that you can pick up a list when you get there, but I'm also trying to get one in advance.

I hope that it includes holiday goodies as well. DH is highly sensitive to dairy, and it would be nice to know what he will be able to enjoy.

Do you know who you talked to? I was gonna try calling tomorrow too and try to light a fire under her. ;)

I tried to find a phone number, but I think that Disney Dining just transferred me over. You maybe the number for Dining already, but if not, it's 714.781.3463

:)Unfortunately, there is no food allergy list at the parks as far as specific ingredients and where to find foods without them. The only list that they have is one for gluten-free foods that will tell you where you can get those prepared. For example, it says that you can get gluten-free waffles at Goofy's Kitchen, etc. You can talk to the chef where you are dining and they can prepare a meal to your specifications and you can also ask for ingredients at counter service locations, but there is no general list of food items that won't have certain ingredients, or what restaraunts to find them in. They don't have pre-prepared items made without specific allergens except for gluten-free foods. I hope everything works out okay for both of you.

Its so hard to tell if things have changed, or if you just got a silly CM.

Back, oh, a year ago maybe, I called DD, was put through to voicemail of Chef Chris, and he called me back. We had a long talk, and during that convo I let him know that he should check the ingredients of the Uncrustables that they sell (junk in a plastic bag, basically)...he was shocked, thought it was simple PB&J. Always interesting to find out that a chef in charge of helping with allergies etc doesn't know what's in all the food! :3dglasses

Then just a month after that people were calling and being told by Disney Dining that they couldn't talk to anyone, there was no one specific, blah blah blah.

Then shortly after that, people started being put through to the Chefs again. :confused3

I know that there are ingredient list binders at the counter service and bakery locations. Of course it's a bit painful to wait in line to ask for that, just to find out there's nothing. So if there's *any* way you could split from the group (assuming it's a group) for a bit to check on various ingredient lists, so your son doesn't get overly disappointed.

At a sit-down place, they'll be easy about working with you (though don't ask for the ingredient of the treasure chest cake at Wine Country Trattoria...they made it seems like I was asking for the key to the universe with that question!)...I mean, even at the most meat-centric place they can make up veggie meals if asked to.

FYI in case he likes soups (though if he's allergic AND picky it seems he might not), I don't know about the actual soup ingredients, but you can get the soup that is normally put into a breadbowl into a cup, and get the bread put in a bag to take away. Yay for that! So that's one of your wheat issues taken care of, assuming the soup/chili/gumbo is otherwise OK (and palatable).

I would suggest calling again. And in your message, be specific about his needs. What are you looking for. "cookies that are wheat free", "dairy free desserts", etc etc. Leave your phone number at the beginning of the message. Hopefully you just got a bad CM. :) I know that despite the lack of knowledge of the Smuckers brand sandwiches, Chef Chris seemed a caring, interested person to talk to about food choices and allergies! The month before we spoke, he had created a raw sort of lasagna for a raw foodist (can't heat food over a certain temp) at one of the restaurants...if they can do THAT, obviously they care. :)

My son has milk, egg and nut allergies. The only place that was accomodating was Goofy's. You remind them when you check in and a chef will come to the table and tell you what's safe on the buffet or cook you something safe. We did that last week and my son had plain noodles for Thanksgiving dinner with some fruit and a bunless hotdog off the buffet. The chef also made him some gluten free, dairy free, egg free chocolate chip cookies. At the counter services I had a hard time getting any answers. No one seemed to know for sure what the ingredients were. No one ever offered to get me a binder. I had brought my own egg free/dairy free bread with me and then we'd tried to get him some fruit and a slab of meat at the restaurants... I had brought quite a bit of okay snacks with me for him. The big Mickey pretzels were also safe for him, which was nice. I think you're going to have a hard time finding soy free in addition to needing wheat free. You will probably want to pack some of your own stuff. Good luck! :)

My DS has the same allergies as your son. Do you mind letting me know what items he was able to have and from where? It's great to know that he can have the Mickey pretzels, but I would also like to know what else he can have in advance. THANKS!
