I have emailed universal twice, and I receive the same generic response about what I can and cannot eat. In addition to shellfish I have an anchovy allergy, which is often an overlooked ingredient. Anchovies are usually found in sauces, particularly for meat.
I am worried that when I get to universal something will get overlooked and I will come in contact with something I am allergic too.

We are only going down for a few days so I will not be able to bring my own food, aside from a few snacks.

I was wondering if anyone has better luck in talking with guest services about food allergies.

I emailed the email listed on that page, and got the same message back. And neither time did they address my anchovy allergy

Try giving them a call and speaking with them directly.

Definitely call them direct.........they were incredibly helpful to friends of ours. One of their children have multiple allergies and the guy they spoke to reassured them and gave them loads of information.

They had no issues at either hotels or parks restaurants.

If you send me a PM, I can give you the names of some of the chefs I spoke to when preparing a trip in 2013. At a minimum they can definitely help you at least with details of their own restaurants' menu and what would be off limits. They may be able to give you a more direct email for someone that has access to the ingredients of the foods served at counter service at the parks.
