Folding Stroller with Good Storage?

Hi,

We're going to Disney Sept. with our 23month old son. I recently got a Cmbi folding stroller because my Graco was getting toobig for quick trips and shopping. Anyway the stroller is lightweight, easy to fold with a shoulder strap to carry. The seat reclines so my son can nap and it has a shade to block the sun. HOWEVER, the storage mesh below isn't that big and there's this bar that makes it hard to get a diaper bag in and out. There is a pocket on the back as well abd a cup holder.

Does anyone know of a good lightweight folding stroller with decent storage space. My Combi should be good for Disney, but it would be nice to have more space to store snacks and water for my son plus a well-equipped diaper bag and other things you tend to gather.

I've been looking in anticpation also. I got the Chicco (similar to the Combi you have) for Christmas and it just won't work for WDW. And DH refuses to push it because it's too low. I don't want to pay for an expensive stroller cause I already have a big ole expensive one.
The best option I found that didn't get horrible reports (just semi-bad) was the Jeep® Cherokee Sport Lightweight Stroller, right now it's online at Walmart for $50. Cosco has a $25 stroller that gets ok reviews too. I'll have to check that out.

Thanks - Someone on the boards mentioned McClaren - said it was great (can't remember the model). McClaren can be a bit expensive...and I don't think the seat reclines which I think is nice especially if my son needs a quick nap. My Combi has low handles as well - and wouldn't you know I was in Babies 'r Us last week and they have a new model out with higher handles!
Well I have until the first week of Sept. - The quest continues...

I'm holding off for awhile as well. I might hit the garage sales this summer and see if I can pick up something super cheap. I'll be looking for the diamond in the ruff!
DH will kill me if I spend a lot on a stroller just for WDW!

I have the Maclaren Techno TX which was their most expensive model when I got it (DH's parents got it for us) and it does fully recline but the storage is very small and difficult to access. I think that is a problem an almost all the smaller/lightweight strollers.

I currently own a mac techno classic and I have owned two combi's (savvy and savvy soho) and the storage for the mac while not as great as having the storage of a fullsize graco or equivalent is 100 times better than the combi. The mac might be a better option b/c the handles extend for taller people and the only time that storage is hard to access is when the stroller is fully reclined. While the techno can be ridiculously expensive you might find that the triumph may be more suitable for your needs. I made my decision to purchase a techno b/c of the weight it holds while the triumph holds a good size as well the techno hold about 5-10 pounds more. The triumph also comes w/ a carry strap.

The techno I purchased I had been looking at on ebay for like 175.00 w/ shipping but I actually bought from someone on craigslist for 150.00 and it was in excellent condition w/ litterally no wear on the wheels. I also managed to pick up a volo from a local thrift store for 25 dollars and it was in good condition just normal wear on the wheels.

You can also try a bag that attaches to a stroller (maybe at Babies-r-Us or somewhere like that). I have one that attaches to my umbrella stroller and it works great for WDW trips! (But I can't remember where I got it, maybe at Meijer)

bumbershoot just reminded me on another thread about the graco ipo which is comparable to the maclaren. Or even the mosaic.

I have a MacLaren Triumph and the seat reclines. The basket underneath is a pretty good size, but as someone else said there is a bar there that can make getting larger things in and out a bit difficult. Also, the handles are a good height, not that short. We bought a cup holder to attach to it in Babies R Us.

Thanks for all the input! I have time so I'm keeping my eyes open. I will definately check into the McClaren. We're planning some other summer trips so it will get use - and there's always Dinesy next year! I figure I'd wait until I get closer to summer and the trip so I can have a better measure on how it fits my son - these kids just keep on growin'. I bought a nice compact Eddie Bauer diaper bag that fits nicely into the storage bin of the Combi. It's great for around town, but I'm not sure if there's enough room to stuff all the extras for walking around Disney. Plus there's the camera and the camcorder....Don't know about you guts, but I think "mom" is another word for pack mule!

I have a McClaren, and even though I have a lot of reservations with it (no drink holder, nothing up front for the kids to put their snacks or drinks in, small storage space under) it is the one I'm taking with me for our December trip. My ways of justifing/combating it are - Buying my own attachable drink holders. As far as the snacks... got nothing on that one other than a handing them a baggie of food. For the storage - ever notice the handles - thats where I hang everything! They are open, so I can put a diaper bag there, my purse... just make sure you don't walk away from it. Also, we have two kids, so we are bringing our double, but we will also be bringing a small umbrella stroller incase we want to split up.
Also, they are mightly expencive, but I have seen several outside at our local childrens second hand store that look to be in pretty good condition. You just have to look often, hard, and be lucky!

feb is the end of the season for baby products as new ones will roll out in march. Look at close out places for last years models. I personally love www.albeebaby.com. I have a zooper stroller from there that I LOVE. Zooper comes with a UV shade and rain guard as well as a boot for cold weather. It's a 3 wheeled stroller and probably big for disney but when we go next jan I plan on taking it. I also have a diaper bag that clips on to the back of the bars. It's a skiphop duo bought from target on clearance for 7$ LOVE it.

SharpMomofTwo and anyone else who is interested if you are looking purchase attachable cupholders look in to the valcobaby universal cupholder. I purchased two of them for my mac and love them. While in disney they held my resort mug as well as my refillable cup for AK. They provide a snug fit so I didn't have to worry about my drinks spilling. The only time I had to worry about spills was when dd would plop down in the stroller.

Take the Graco. It probably has all the items you want and youre not talking about using it for quick errands, its for long days at WDW. Plus if youre pretty much done with it at home, you wont care about anything happening to it.

They do have other colors and styles. I bought the butterfly because we have a girl. I also like the fact that it goes up to 55lbs plus 10lbs for storage. It will be the last stroller I ever own. I love it, but I did pay a pretty penny for it.

I have a Combi and have used it at Disney several times now. We love how light it is, but you are right... the basket isn't great.

However, instead of going out and spending another $100 on a stroller, we took the stroller (with the kid in it) to REI and bought a really nice bag ($60 on sale) that fit underneath a little easier. We were able to put all our "extras" in it with no problem. Then we had a JJ Cole Essentials diaper bag (recommended on the Dis Boards at some point) for anything we needed to have with us at all times (diapers, wipes, Purell, tissues, chapstick, money, etc.) Then we switched off wearing the bag (which is comfortable, anyway). The two bags together cost about $80 -- far less than I was able to find another stroller for.
