Right now, from Philly it is $222 RT on Air Tran, including taxes. This is right in line with any trip we have taken from Philly to Orlando. But we have never gone in December ( 2nd week )..... Better to wait. or better to book now?

I would book in February, because that's when I booked our flight to Orlando for the 2nd week of December. ;)

It was $175 r/t from Newark. Couldn't pass that up.

We have been taking JetBlue out of JFK, but really wanted to leave out of Newark this year, then JetBlue was only releasing 6 months out, and I was noticing that the cheap JetBlue flights($140-$160) were more for JFK than Newark, so when I saw that price for Continental, for the exact times we needed, I jumped on it..and am glad I did! I'll miss those TVs though!

My short answer that I made long  : as soon as you see a fare that you are happy with, jump on it.

I've already started checking periodically for next April.

I JUST booked my flight from PHL to MCO yesterday for my trip next month. I got a Ding for 49 dollars down there, coming home is still 99 so I'm waiting to see if there's a ding for that. If I don't get one by next week I'll book the 99 dollar fare.

I've always flown Cont. out of EWR but airfare was 300+ so it was an easy choice for me.

I would hold out until SWA releases some Ding fares for then, or at least you can check to see if their flights are heavily booked..if they're arent, chances are they'll have a sale.

We bought our tickets for late November back at the end of May. We're paying $202 roundtrip non-stop including all taxes, etc. for a flight out of Richmond.

I figured if anything the fares would go up, not down so I jumped on it and got them.

We have been booked since Feb. We have always found that when you book as early as possible that we get really good rates.

With Southwest flying out of PHL, I would definitely wait for them to release their rates. Most other carriers will drop their rate once SW has released theirs! I know that the usual rate from PIT to MCO is $79 each way. Dings are usually available and it is easy enough to cancel one ticket and use that credit to buy a cheaper fare :thumbsup2

I would definitely wait a few weeks as Southwest should release their December fares sometime before the end of the month!

I* bought in january for a non-stop flight for $177 RT.

Actuallly, I booked our December Trip in January when the 331-day window opened up. But then agaim, I am one of those willing to gamble a bit to save a few bucks. I was able to book round-trip for our family of 5 for 198.00 ea.

Having said that, I did lose my non-stop flights when our airline changed some of their contracts around. Still, I am pleased with the price that I paid.

I would book now if there are non-stop flights at the times you want and the prices are in line with what you've paid in the past. I've noticed at PHL that the prices don't necessarily go down once SW puts their flights up or if they do, the cheap flights are for first thing in the moring or late at night.

Yes, they are nonstop. PHL is a "funny" airport, to be sure.

Now that's just not fair. We can never get these good rates! Waaaaahhhhhh!

I'm going in January and I saw a fare the other day for $268 and I thought that was a great price! That would be high compared to what you guys can get it for.

Waaaaaaaahhhhhhhh! :teeth:

I'm a fan of getting tix ASAP (got tix for my March trip in August, we're going elsewhere in FL in October and we ordered in June).
