Has anyone out there actually played with this thing? Is it worth it? Seems a little pricey too me, but so is X-Box

I can get so much more for $100. They had them on display on Target and my son who had it on his list said "Thats it?"

Xbox is definetely not expensive compared to that.

They reviewed it on Attack of the Show a few weeks ago and it looked pretty cool but I think $100 is a bit pricy for it. I know you can buy different cartridges for it to do different things with it for $30 a piece. I was going to buy it but I think I will pass as it for this year and wait till the price comes down a bit in the summer time.

I wouldn't mind buying it if you didn't have to buy the special paper and carts it uses. My DD can use paper like crazy and that would really add up quickly. I told her to wait and see if anyone gets one and see how they work before we commit.

After I posted this, I did some Googling. Oppenheimer has it as one of their top rated gifts this year.

I looked at it in Target - it said things like "you can draw your own calculator and use it!"

uh, why would you want to do that? Especially considering that you have to use that really expensive paper! I sure as heck wouldn't be willing to pay that for my kids to do their daily Math homework or anything on that stuff.....

The other stuff like the info from the textbook publishers looks very similar to the IQuest cartridges etc - but much more expensive.
