Flying With Syringes in Carry on?

How do I do this? Not diabetic but have to inject a couple times a week.

Just let the agents know before it goes through x-ray that you have them in your carry on for medical reasons.

Your welcome I would pack them in something you can take out that they could look like a small plastic bag or something like that. If you don't want them going through the x-ray you can request a hand inspection instead.


I am not sure if you are going to need them while in the park if so Disney ask you let the cm know for their safety. It so they don't stick them selves and get Hurt.

I just pack them in the bag I use for all my medical stuff. I don't even tell the TSA people I have them.

And I tend to take five or six air round trips per year and have end done some international. I have never been asked about them.

I always remove my insulin and put it into my quart bag for liquids/gels, but have never done anything special with the syringes. Never been questioned abut them.

Sorry may be I am wrong I just figured that they Aaron something about syringes because they can be used as a weapon and they would want to know their being used for medical reasons. But as other posted they have no problems but just be adware that their might be a Tsa agent say something but it shouldn't be a problem.

Read through the TSA link that Disney David provided and use the recommendations of the PP's. I do all of the above and my own, which is; I arrange all my insulins, syringes, etc. into smaller ziplock bags WITH the prescription labels visible. I put these into a larger quart size ziplock and remove it from my carry-on so it's visible to the screeners as it goes through x-ray. Make sure you inform the security officers. I've always found them helpful and courteous.

I leave them in the plastic bag they come in. I also carry a note from my doctor, but have never been asked to show it.

This is going to sound just horrible, but, one time, I traveled and had forgotten that I had a scalpel in my briefcase. I found it when I got to my destination, and moved it to my checked bag. Scary. Usually, I carry a couple sterile needles (no syringe) in case somebody gets a blister at the park, but, not usually in my carry on-it's in my portable medical consultation kit.

We came across the border from Canada in August and had them in our
carry on in a clear ziploc bag and had no issues at all. I'm sure having the meds
in the same bag makes it easier for them to check as well.
