My daughter takes quite a few medications and to keep everything organized, quick and easy when we travel I always pre-bag and label them (Sat. AM, Sat. PM, etc.) Its just so much easier than sorting out 8 pills in the morning and again at night when we are on vacation. I know I'm supposed to keep the meds in their original bottle with her name on it but can I still do the bagging thing if I bring the bottles with extra pills in it? If would be absolute horrific if they did anything to prevent us bringing her meds.

Also I'm taking some new meds for high blood pressure. My doc just gave me a bunch of samples to try before writing a prescription so we can be sure this is the right thing for me to be on. Am I going to have trouble bringing these onboard?

Thanks for any info!

I haven't checked there but will now. Thanks!

I also take alot of medicine. I sort mine out in two of the 7-day containers--one for AM and one for PM and tape them shut. Then, the containers and all my medicine in my original bottles are put in my carryon bag. I also carry insulin and all the assorted supplies in my carryon bag. I went in September and did NOT have any problems---no one even questioned the bag and it went thru the screening process just fine at San Jose, CA-LAX-MCO and Salt Lake City.

Hope this helps, Cindy :Pinkbounc

If you are flying domestically, the "prescription label" rule ONLY applies to liquid medications. Pills and capsules are not at issue.

I fly almost weekly (just got home tonight) and always take my pills in an organizer box with no problem (no liquids).

Just back from trip flying out of Logan 11/22 (day before Thanksgiving) & return from Orlando 11/28. We were flying with prescription meds in pill/tablet form & insulin, syringes, testing materials, etc. I declared the diabetic supplies including insulin & neither time did any TSA agent want to look at anything. I had the quart size ziploc bag with toiletries & all diabetic supplies in a quilted cloth case. I put both in the bin along with shoes & coat on top of everything. The pills were in a case in my carryon bag & no-one looked at those either. All in all it was a very easy trip & I felt all the TSA agents were very pleasant & helpful. At Logan they even had a table set up before security & were helping people with their toiletries & giving away free ziploc bags.
