What is allowed for me to carry on the Plane for my baby girl who will be 6 months at the time of trip to Disney World. We are flying from Detroit to Orlando on a Delta Flight.

You should be good with your regular diaper bag but I would check their website for forumla, bottles and liquids. At least the flight is nice and short at 2 hrs 40 mins.

We fly with Delta on Wednesday but now DS is 12 and DD 9 so have kinda lost track of the exacts you can take.

Thank you for your help. I will have to see about how much formula I can carry on. She only drinks 4 ounces at a time. See if I can make up bottle before hand or just bring the formula and water separated.

I brought 4 -8oz ready to feed on our flight from LAX to BUF yesterday and they had no issues. They had a separate scanning machine for the bottles. I think at one point they said a "reasonable" amount but I take into account potential delays and did not want to be stuck.

Already made formule, you can bring what you need for the day because they know that delays do happen. Diaper bag can be brought in the airplane on top of your carry on. To save you aggrevation and to be able to bring more formula then needed, you can always bring your powder formula in a container and after security by a few bottles of water to take with you. THat what I did when I travelled with our triplets at the age of one other wise I would have had way to much weight on my shoulder from all the bottles LOL

They are lenient when flying with babies I've found. I've flown when my son was 7 months, 2, 3 & 5 years old & they never said anything about water, bottles or formula.

We flew when my daughter was 3 months and just recently at 9 months (both times out of BUF). The first time since I was still using sterilized water I pre-made the bottles with formula and brought them in a small cooler with 2 frozen gel ice packs. I was warned that security could have taken away the gel packs but they never did (I also used them when returning from MCO and again no issues). They just opened all the bottles to test them and let us go. This past May's trip I made only a couple bottles (also brought the frozen gel packs) and brought water and formula separately and again everything was tested but it was quick and painless and nothing was confiscated. I really did stress the first time but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

FYI we also gate checked our stroller and car seat and it was waiting for us as soon as we got off the plane (we flew SW). If your your child is flying as a lap child do check at your gate if the flight is full because if it's not they will often allow your infant to have spot to use their car seat. Our dd was flying as a lap infant but for one leg of our flight there was room and she got a seat. It was perfect beause she slept in her car seat for the whole flight. :goodvibes

I will warn you, it will depend on the security person you get. One time they let us through with the BM in a bottle, next time they asked me to dump it. certain airports have different regulations. I do find Canada to be a little more understanding then some int he states.

I would suggest that you go over to the Transportation board. Someone over there can give you the website for TSA, which regulates everything that you are allowed to bring as carryon. This also applies to Canadians flying into US airports. Medications and baby formulas are exempted from the normal liquid restrictions. But to be on the safe side, and for your own peace of mind, check out the TSA website.

Found it: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/children/index.shtm

One other little tip. Have the bottle handy at takeoff and landing. Sometimes babies have trouble equalizing the pressure in their ears. Sucking helps relieve this.
