Hellol all :)

quick question to those of you travelled with a baby - (or those in the know!!)

anyone know where the sky cots are in Premium Ecomony? and how exactly they work - we've been advised that we have one booked, but DH is a bit concerned about our poistion on the plane. In laws have already reserved seats upstairs but we don't think we're alowed up there with a sky cot?!?!?

also, I'm starting to be a bit concerned about food and airport security - DD prefers home cooked food so I would prefer to take some food portions with us for the flight and first day.... how would that go down with security? or do i have to risk having jarred food?!?!?! :confused3

thanks folks :goodvibes

Can't answer the baby questions, but as for the food, you will need to check on the American Embassy website as to what is allowed into the country and what is not. Things like nuts, seeds, meats, fruits, etc will NOT be allowed. We take things like teabags and weetabix, which I know are allowed, but always declare it at immigration. The best thing to do is check and double check about what you can take, otherwise they will confiscate it from you at the airport. Also, whatever you take, declare you have food! Otherwise, you could face a large fine!!! Not a good way to start the holiday!

Sky cots attach to the bulk head so, no matter where you are those are the seats you will get. I have used them many times, sometime we have not all been seated together but I have always gotten one when requested. It doesn't say how old your baby will be when you fly, hopefully on the younger side as the cots are pretty small. Bring an extra blanket to put in it and cover your baby with. They do have extra but my kids have always been happier with ones from home.

As for food I have never brought home made foods, I might want to start your little one out with some pre made stuff to get them udsed to it, I think securiy will be happier to deal with things they recorgnise:) You can bring jars of apples etc... Just not in their natural form.

Let me know if you have any other questions:) Happy to help.

In PE there is only 1 skycot postion upstairs and there are 2 downstairs.

Just be careful as both times we should have had the upstairs one it was on the other side. Luckily the passengers swapped with us but might be an isuue. This is because it is on the opposite sides on the two different plane types!
