Hi Everyone.

I am going back to the world in August but its short notice and on a very tight budget just me and my youngest daughter(12) , we have booked a two stop over via Amsterdam and Detroit , and was wandering if anyone has done any or all of these stop overs as im worried about missing connections.
I would also be open to any advice you could give me about this sort of thing as ive only ever done direct before.

We had planned to go Edinburgh to JFK then Orlando but Delta are stopping the Edinburgh flight from mid September so had to rebook and all we got was the Amsterdam and detroit. would be interested to know what Detroit is like for immigration and baggage claim etc.

Never done a 2 stop, only 1 stop never a problem, would do 2 stop if I had to but thankfully always found 1 stops cheaper.
Been to both Amsterdam(about 10 times) and Detroit just once last Oct. In detorit last Oct we had a 2hr 39min stop over, loads of time. We found both easy to navigate, At Schipol it can be a long walk from arrival gate to departure, hopefully they are close together for you.
What times do you have in each airport?

We did Heathrow to MCO via Detroit in May 09 flying with Delta, very smooth.
Cleared immigration, collected baggage, re checked baggage went to gate for flight to MCO.

Very easy.
