We are flying SW for the 1st time next Tuesday morning. If you've recently flown SW out of Philly I'd be interested to hear how your experience was. Also, they do have curbside check-in right?

Thanks!

My husband and I recently flew SW from Philly to Vegas last month. The experience was good.

They do have curbside check-in but I suggest printing out your boarding passes at home at midnight the day you leave. This will ensure you get that "A" boarding pass and you can have your pick of the seats. People line up at the gate according to what letter boarding pass you have. They do allow families with children under 5 to preboard.

Our flights were great, plane was clean and brand new, and flight attendants were very nice.

We are flying again at the end of the month to WDW.:earsboy:

Thanks I am glad to hear that you had a good experience.

We won't be able to print out boarding passes because we are staying at an airport hotel the day night before. I was concerned about this and called SW. They assured me that we would not have a problem. A,B,C passes are distributed equally. We'll see. Kind of dumb the after midnight thing. Why not 24 hours in advance like other airlines do.

Thanks again!

I just got off the phone with an extremly nice SW agent who was most helpful. (I'll admit I have been obsessing over this whole A, B,C boarding pass thing. ) His name was Joe and he said it does not matter if we can't print out our boarding passess after midnight. There are only so many A passes allocated to the on-line check in. Some of those people will be getting B or even C passses. By checking our luggage with the sky cap we will most likely get an A pass or maybe a B. There are enough seats for everyone and we will be able to sit together. Joe said that the people who run into problems (being separated) are those who run in at the last minute.

Whew!! I do feel better now!

Thank you for the information - we will be flying SWA on 7/17/04 for the 1st time and were a little worried about the A, B, C thing. Since my DD is 4 it looks like we will be preboarding (I hope). I will definetly curbside check in (worth the tip for the skycap).

Are you suggesting, by your comment, it is better not to get the pass the night before, but to wait until the curbside check-in to get the 'A' pass?

Now I am really confused!

Trying to make plans for the fall. We have our tickets to get to WDW, but since we are coming home on 11/7, there are no tickets yet! We can get there, but can't get home! (is that a bad thing :earseek: ) Driving us nuts!

It is my understanding that the A boarding passes are equally distributed between the on-line people and those who use the sky caps. I know it is confusing!

I am using SW next month from Philly for my trip to SSR. I read recently in the Philadelphia Inquirer that SW is doing extremely well in the Philadelphia market (no surprise to me!) and that most of the planes were leaving the gates completely full. This adds to my angst as well....I plan to go online at midnight, but who knows where I'll be seated? I'm trying to remind myself that it is not that long a flight!

We are leaving on 7/16 on SW - I'm not worried about sitting with my kids - someone else can watch them for me for 2 hours on the plane. Do you think I will get any volunteers??

:hyper:
