We are taking a Disney Alaska Cruise in 2016. I am trying to figure out if it's better to pay the extra money and fly straight into Vancouver or is it really worth the dollars to fly into Seattle and try to catch some type of shuttle into Vancouver?

We would be flying in a couple days early, but would be trying to get home on the same day we disembark.

Any thoughts/ideas?

Last year my wife and I were supposed to do a SB Alaskan Cruise disembarking in Vanc and we were going to rent at a car and drive to Seattle for our flight the next day. Unfortunately we had to cancel. You may want to look at the cost of a rental and parking in Vanc for the cruise or two one way rentals and see how much it is.

You may also want to check out the message boards on the cruise critic website. Lot's of good info there with an Alaska board and I believe a Disney Cruise board and they mention Shuttle/busses and even the train you can take between the two cities.

I prefer Vancouver over Seattle to visit and the Vancouver airport is wonderful, so depending on how many dollars are involved I personally would choose Vancouver.

And depending on how you travel from one city to the next, it can involve an overnight in Seattle, which can raise your costs.

Look at all the options, work out timing and costs (airfare is the most changeable one) and see what works best.

And don't forget the option of flying into Seattle and out of Vancouver.

The Vancouver airport is nice, but since I had my longest wait ever getting through customs/immigration to get into Canada the last time I was there (over 1 1/2 hours in line; especially maddening because they kept pulling people in back of us to move into new shorter lines), I would not call it wonderful.
