I am having a tough time trying to find decent airfare for this September from SEA-MCO, probably because we would prefer the non-stop 9:25pm flight there and the non-stop 6:25pm flight back lol I paid $300return/person last time we flew those flights - so far, I haven't seen it for less than $850return/person :scared1:

Has anyone had any better luck or have any advice for me? :flower3:

We always fly from Seatac. But I've never flown the direct flights. They don't usually come up on Kayak :confused3

We usually fly late Aug. I have noticed for our dates this Aug, (last 2 weeks) fares have been a bit higher.

In Jan we flew for $279 RT each incl tax with 1 stop.

Keep watching. With that fare you could fly cheaper out of YVR!!

Out of curiosity I did a search (for my dates) 8/22 - 9/3 and Alaska non stop fare was $503

I just booked for Sept (7th to 18th)
We fly out of Seatac and into Tampa Bay on Southwest.

Of course not direct, only Alaska has direct flights SEA to MCO

I paid 191pp per direction

WAY more than I wanted to but WAY less than anything I could find into MCO

At least with Southwest I know the luggage is a non-issue

Some Alaska flights in Sept are $242 pp each way, so try fiddling with your dates. (Down from $249 last week)

Yikes, Tampa is at least a 90 min drive to WDW if you don't travel during rush hrs.

Will happily drive 90 mins to save over $500, no need to yikes...lol

I'm driving over 3 hours to Seattle after a 90 min ferry ride after a 45 min drive to the ferry to save money, why worry about 90 mins at the other end.

Happy to have that $500 in my pocket, and we are renting a car either way.

Hmmm...I feel your pain...I remember back in 2005 when Alaska started the non-stop flights. They were offering one-way fares for $150. The good old days compared to what I'm seeing now. :scared1:

Keep checking though. Every day if possible. Airfares fluctuate so much. Our upcoming trip, we paid $130 for Delta (one brief stop in Minneapolis) going to MCO and $259 for the Alaska non-stop flight back to SEA. We booked 6 months ago to get these fares. To get our fares, I checked every day. When I saw Delta's airfare for $130, I went in for the kill. Good thing I did, I checked back later and it went up 3x.

Good luck!!!

:thumbsup2 good job!

Was just listening to the BCTV 6:00 news. They said jet fuel has gone up 40% :scared1: so we can expect fares to go up 10% for 2012.
Glad we booked on points for Aug, we actually have the luxury of flying out of YVR for a change  But worried for our Jan trip.

Is the ferry from Victoira to Seattle expensive? And does it take cars? I've always wondered about it. Sounds like a fun way to go to Seattle. Just wondering if you would know?

Points are great, aren't they!!! Our stay in WDW for our upcoming trip is free with our credit card points.

Flying out of YVR is definitely a luxury and always has been for us. I compared our airfare SEA-MCO to a YVR-MCO airfare for the same spring break period. It'd cost me about $950 per ticket flying out of YVR. Yes, $4000 total for a family of 4. Instead, I'm paying about $1560 total for 4 of us.

Lisalonglash, keep looking and maybe also look into getting an Alaska Air credit card. By getting the CC, you will get 20,000 Mileage points (good for about 50% off a ticket) and a $99 companion fare. The AA CC has an annual cost of $75. But given your airfare savings, it's not that bad.
