We recently moved to Houston and will be flying to Disney for the first time out of IAH. We are flying United. We are confused and hoping for some help. We are parking our car at one of the offsite lots. How do you know if you need to go to A,B,C,D, or E to check in and check your luggage? I'm assuming you would need that information to let the driver of the offsite lot know where to drop us off.

By going to IAH's website http://www.fly2houston.com/welcome, it looks like United flies out of multiple terminals. By using their 'Flight Search' for United departures to Orlando, the three flights today leave from either E or C concourse.

I would do a search for the same day you're flying out (if you depart on a Friday, do a search for Friday departures) for a GENERAL idea of the right terminal, but know it's subject to change.

I found the same thing when I went to the IAH website. Being that it's United and not another airline is where my confusion comes, because United flies out of multiple terminals. Where the other airlines just seem to fly out of Terminal A.

It sounds like the best I can do is check the site the morning of. I was hoping someone had some concrete way to figure this out.....but maybe that is the concrete way. Thanks guys!

We fly out of iah on United. It is usually C terminal. When you check in and get your boarding pass the day before it will say which terminal. Have a great trip.

Thank you! My husband flew out on United today for the first time for work and when he checked in yesterday it said the terminal was not determined. So, he just went to B not knowing what else to do and he got lucky, it was B. We are flying out next week for Disney. If it says terminal not determined for us should we guess C? Does each terminal have it's own check in area? If we go to C and it's not the right terminal can we still check in at C and our luggage will get to the right terminal? Sorry for all the questions, Minneapolis airport seemed much bigger but this seems much more confusing (and I don't even want to think about all the different connecting trams!!). Hoping we just need to get a trip or two under our belt to feel at home.

We moved from New York State to the Houston area three years ago and I still think IAH is pretty confusing! I'm not able to help you with your question, but for future reference- Southwest has direct flights from Hobby airport to Orlando and Hobby is a smaller and more manageable airport.

I think you meant nonstop flights, not direct flights.

United flies nonstop IAH-MCO.

Thanks, we did look at Southwest and Hobby and were surprised that United was cheaper. To be quite honest we had major sticker shock at the price to fly out of either Hobby or Bush. It is so much more expensive than we are used to in Minneapolis and Milwaukee. I know you've only been here three years, but tell me, the fares this year are a fluke and they aren't normally this high!!! :scared:

magicaldisney- I hope the prices this season are a fluke! I paid under $300 for my trip in December 2012 and again in April 2013, for nonstop flights from Hobby to Orlando. But the ticket I purchased in October for my trip next month cost me $371! (Although, I could have paid $342 if I had purchased it in September.)

lost*in*cyberspace- Yes, nonstop flight is what I meant to say. Southwest does have nonstop, direct, and connecting flights from Hobby to MCO.

I didn't look for and get flights until we moved down here, so hopefully next time I will be able to catch the flights as they are first released. Hoping to not pay this much each trip! Our flights with United are nonstop so we are happy with that.

I was an air traffic controller there for 5 years. You can go into any terminal and get to your gate. I always went in via the A concourse as that was where employee parking was and then ride the train to our terminal. I would get off at C for all United mainline flights (which it is for Orlando) or get off at B for Express flights.

Great info. Thanks. If we go to A but have to be at B, C, etc., can we check our luggage in at A and just take our carryons to C or do we need to take all our luggage with us and check in at C?

I don't want to scare you but Houston in general is one of the most expensive cities to fly from. You can find good deals but it takes patience. I live not far and am always shocked when I hear the rates that people get from other cities. We have yet to buy airfare for our spring break trip as rates have averaged $600+ round trip, per person. Ugh!
