Hi,

We are flying out the of Buffalo airport for the first time and would like to ask for tips.

Where do we park the vehicle when we are away?
What do you tell the border guards at the crossing? Is it an issue for us flying out of Buffalo? I don't want to be stopped at the border

Thanks.

You should have no problems. Just tell the border guards where you are going and onto Disney.
Park at the longterm parking. Not sure of the daily cost.
Have a great time!

Here's some more information for you!

Park on site at the BNIA and enjoy the most convenient access to the terminal available. Our secure 5,100 parking spaces give you direct entry and exit from the Kensington Expressway (Route 33) and quick access to the New York State Thruway (Interstate 90).

Parking in any lot for 30 minutes or less is free .

Facilities include:
Short-Term Parking is covered, weather protected and ideal for pick-ups and drop-offs. Increments are $2.50/hour, with a daily maximum of $15.

Preferred Long-Term Parking A is adjacent to the parking ramp, with many spaces within walking distance to the terminal. If you are taking a short trip with carry-on luggage, this lot is perfect.
$9.50 daily and $48 weekly.

Long-Term Parking is the most economical lot, designed for those parking three or more days. The $38 weekly rate is the lowest cost parking at the BNIA.

Free shuttles operate for Preferred Long-term and Long-term parking patrons. Car-to-terminal service, with luggage assistance, is available 24 hours a day, every day.

Parking Regulations
The The NFTA Transit Police Department recommends that all patrons utilize airport parking to avoid any parking disputes. Parking in for 30 minutes or less is free . A word of caution to those drivers who choose to park on the roadway in the Arrivals/Departures area: The police department is obligated to enforce the standards set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration, under the guidelines of the Federal Aviation Regulation 107, which clearly states: ALL UNATTENDED VEHICLES MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE FRONTAL AREA OF THE TERMINAL BULIDING. This area is only to be used for ACTIVELY loading and unloading of luggage and passengers. If an emergency should arise and you need to park directly in front of the terminal building, you must first contact a Police Officer who will authorize or provide you with a parking space. This area is clearly marked and should not be disputed with the Officer on duty. Remember that this Officer is only following directives. NOTE: You may notice a small parking lot located on the west end of the terminal building, this is a pre-paid lot for specified delivery vehicles, limousines and bus services only. Located in the Arrivals area are designated parking spaces for shuttle services.

We have parked at the long term parking before and its actually quite close to the terminal - we didn't have much luggage and just walked although they do have roaming buses to pick you up as well. Its really quite a painless airport especially since you've already cleared customs on the drive through (yes, we also told them we were flying out of BUF airport to go to Disney - no problems). The security check line can be long, but moved quickly for us. ONce through security, there is not much to do - a few shops and a few food stops. There is also a small kids play area with a couple of small climb-on things. Its quite easy - enjoy! Jo

We just tell them at the border that we are going to Disney World.
We stay at a hotel close to the airport the night before and leave our car at the hotel never had to pay included in room price. We take the airport shuttle from the hotel to the airport and call them when we arrive back. They usually are very quick we stay at the Holiday Inn Express near the airport they even give you a take away breakfast as we leave at 5:30am .

Thank you everyone. I'm starting to get excited! We are going to DL and San Diego for the 2 middle weeks in May.

Thanks again.

At the border I would have your airline confirmation printed out and ready so there is no question if asked about where you are going. I have had to provide this before to show when my flight was returning.

We have flown twice out of BUF and will be again in less than two weeks, the first time the immigration office asked if we were just going to watch the planes take off when we told him we were going to the airport, lol.

I said no were we going to disney, come on we had hilary duff singing the tiki room song blasting at the time (a boarder crossing tradition.)

We park in the regular long term parking, if you are going to be more than 7days, think about the overnight hotel idea, as the increments for the parking jump quickely before they hit the second weekly rate. 7 Days is 38.00, but we were gone just over 9 days and the total was approx. 57.00 (weekly & 2x daily & hourly amounts.)

BUF is our main airport now, even if I get lost most times we head there; went south of Buffalo the first time, then missed the turn off from the 401 the next time, lol. This time I have the route down pat. And going at 2:45 am will get us there at 5:15 am, one hour before our flight. But it is the same time we would have left to get to Person on time for all the immigration/customs and such!

 Hey there POOHBEAR7, I curious as to how many days you left your car at a hotel? We will be gone for 10 days, do you make arangements in advance to leave the car in the hotel lot? What's the deal?

As for parking, check out Sunpark. You can prepay for your parking on line (www.sunpark.com) and save a nice amount over Airport Long term Parking.

Sunpark is located across the street from the Airport and has very, very fast and effcient shuttle service. I always park there and never have had a problem.

dancin Disney style. We book the park and fly rate usually 89. a night includes parking and the breakfast buffet. We leave early in the morning 5:30 am so they pack us a breakfast to go. We park our car for 12 days I think you can park up to 2 weeks. We stay at the Holiday Inn Express by the airport. The shuttle driver even helped my husband scrap the snow from the car the last time.

I booked our flight to fly out at 1:40pm for Santa Ana, so I don't think I will do overnight at a hotel. But we'll do down early enough so we would have plenty of time to cross the border.

Thanks for the tip on the parking rate. I'll check the Sunpark suggested by Deltachi8 as well.

Thanks again -- being such a novice at this Disney travel thing, I'm grateful to have the experienced folks to help me through.

Unfortunately, it's not direct but with one stop in Newark on the way out and in Detroit on the way back. The good thing is the wait isn't horrendously long.

I have family near DL, so there is only a set dates that we fly out this time. But next time with no time constraint, I would like to find ways to fly directly if possible. When I booked, no airline that I could check fly directly from BUF to SNA.
