Anyone done this?? We have flow out of Buffalo a number of times but it looks like AirTran has much better deals out of Rochester right now. It looks like Rochester is only about an hour from Buffalo, so I am thinking the drive wouldn't be that bad.

Anyone with experience?

Not personal experience but friends of ours used Rochester last year when they went to Florida and they said the airport is small and easy to navigate - and driving time from their house in guelph only took them 40 mins longer then buffalo does.

We're looking at using Air Tran out of Rochester in August.

Hi. We live in Toronto and we flew out of Rochester last year and are leaving again from there in March. We usually try to fly out of Buffalo but Rochester isn't much further (less than an hour). We stay at the Fairfield the night before which is right at the terminal.

Thanks for the info. So far Rochester flights are less than BUF so it may be in our future! Now if the stupid ROchester ferry would stop being cancelled I would be set LOL.

Hello DutchsMommy,
Since you tried Buffalo a few times, can you share your experience woth me.
We are leaving Buffalo airport on March 5, 2007.
It is a early morning flight with SouthWest and just wondering how busy will that be?

We have never had a problem with BUF airport being busy. We do get there about 2 hours ahead of time. Also, I think we have gone through the shorter security line as DS is 5. However, it is a smallish airport and I don't think you will have an issue. There is also curbside checkin for your luggage etc if you have printed your boarding pass.

Have fun!

Hi, We are in Spencerport which is 5 minutes from the airport! Rochester has a great little airport. It is small but really nice. It is very easy to navigate and has quite a bit of parking etc. We are about 50 minutes from the Buffalo airport. I am going to put the airport link here it may help you out. Just a quick side note. The airport has a few small resturants (more like counter service with chairs and tables in the middle to eat at) but it is $$$$$.

I hope this helps you out.!

Thinking of flying out of Rochester or Syracuse.
