Flying into Vancouver from US

Thank you for parking advice. I do not think we'll do Park n Fly mainly because we just want to arrive at airport and be done with it. I did go to the Toronto airport website and noticed I could prepay for discount, so might do that....

Another thing I need to look into is health insurance - I'm not sure if ours covers us outside of the US. Any thoughts on this?

Have you bought trip insurance yet? Most trip insurance will serve as secondary coverage for health issues (but not pre-existing conditions unless you bought that part of the insurance shortly after booking the cruise), takes care of evacuation, etc. We buy 3rd party trip insurance instead of Disney as the Disney one only covers anything you purchased from Disney--and we want our airfare, hotel, cruise, and other non-refundable items covered. We've been using insurance companies that have under 18 yrs for free, so we're just paying for DH and I, but the coverage is for all 4 of us.

So your standard work health insurance probably doesn't cover you. Look into Travel Medical Insurance. Not sure what places in the US offer it but in Canada all the banks and most credit card companies do.

If you qualify for USAA you might try them for travel insurance. That's what we use.

I have not bought trip insurance. I've noted the suggestions just given, and I'd love to hear any other 3rd party carriers that would cover the 4 of us with 18 yrs and under for free. I'm not sure how to go about buying the insurance - I assume just go online to the carrier?

We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel. We did have a bit of Canadian money but paid the taxi with our CC. It was easy to grab a cab at the airport. (BTW we did the same thing in reverse from the ship to the airport on our last day - we had an early flight to catch).

There are online places you look at for insurance prices. For our upcoming cruise we ended up going to AAA to purchase it, but only after we compared what we saw online to what they were offering.

I have no idea how good they are for claims, but I went through Travel Insured International and got the Worldwide Trip Protector Plan for both my cruises. It was a reasonable rate and has the coverage I wanted. I looked at a trip insurance comparison website first to see the various prices/plans of multiple companies--and then booked directly through Travel Insured.

You want a high amount for medical evacuation as that is very costly from a cruise ship--which is a big reason to get insurance for these types of trips. I was also looking into coverage for terrorism as we're going to Europe on our next cruise--and unfortunately you just never know these days.
