Yeah, it's like in 1989 when some houses collapsed and gas-line fires started in a few blocks of the Marina District, and people around the country thought all of San Francisco was on fire.I had a colleague tell me they wouldn't travel to LA this year, thinking the whole region was in ruins from the fires. I explained how that is not the case, but they didn't believe me. I'm not trying to minimize the damage from what happened in January, but I think the news has a tendency to negatively impact people's perceptions, especially for those unfamiliar with a particular area.
