For all of you that fly out of SeaTac, what kind of prices have you been getting?
I'm looking at prices for August?

Our flights for Jan are $324 RT each, incl tax. (Continental) I booked far ahead, back in May for Jan 2011. Now for Aug it seems I can't find anything under $375 - $390ish :sad2: seems like fares are creeping up.

WWYD? Book now at the lowest I can find or wait to see what the SW fares will be? I'm a bit worried. I find the further ahead you book, the better the fare, seems they just keep going up. Dunno? Wait for SW or book now? Ack!!!:confused3

I would wait. I think it's much too soon to book for August. The lowest prices seem to show up about 4 months ahead it seems. I know how you feel though. It's always nice to get things booked and really feel like you're going.

I know I shouldn't keep looking at prices after I've already booked but I'm glad I pulled the trigger when I did.

I booked in September for our trip in February. I managed to get $276 return on AA. I even got the overnight flight out I wanted. There is a connection but if I got a direct on Alaska our family would have arrived at MCO at 7:30 in the morning. Then what would we do until our room is ready.:confused3

Anyways, good luck on your search. It just felt like a dream at first but once the flights were booked you know the trip's a go!:flower3:

Was that $276 in USD or CAD? Incl tax? If it was in CAD that's VERY good!!
I was happy with my $325 (CAD) for Jan!! I booked in May for Jan.

Well, that's 1 vote to wait and 1 to go :rotfl: I was up late last night lurking on the airline sites, lol. In hope of finding a fare drop after midnight :sad2:

I think I will hold on and see what SW is when they release their Aug. dates.
A friend also said I should wait till after the holidays for fares. Dunno.
At least I have POR booked with free dining for 10 nights in Aug! :woohoo:

Thanks for the replies!

Here's another vote to wait for the August flights. Probably start stalking the prices daily after spring break. I always find the best rates 3-6 months out.

Lucky you to have another trip to WDW!!! We did a cost compare of a trip to WDW or Maui in August 2011, and Maui came out cheaper...so we're heading there instead. Part of me is sad it couldn't be WDW but I can't complain when the alternative is Maui. :goodvibes

Yeah, this past Aug. I went to Hawaii, The Big Island. It was fun, but I found myself missing WDW  So this year we're going Jan to WL, and Aug in POR with free dining.
I think that's why I'm so excited about the Jan trip, haven't been since last Jan 2010

I do see flights with Delta depending on your dates in August in the $324 - $328 range inc taxes.

Thanks, I'm not a big fan of Delta but I can suck it up for the right price, lol!
I was looking at Delta but thought the fares were for red eyes? Will look again.

We booked 10 months in advance for our upcoming March trip. Flying on Alaska (as it is the only non stop option from Seattle that I could find) was the only real option for our situation. I hummed and haa'ed. I booked the flights for around $380 return (Canadian) = Less than 1/2 the price of flying from Vancouver, and there are 6 of us.

Anyhow, now those flights are twice the price they were when I booked. I think you decide what you are willing to pay and what you are happy paying. Then, as soon as you see it for that price on flights you are happy with, go for it. I don't think there is a flat answer. We were going during March break so we knew flights would likely go up. If you aren't going in a peak time, things might be different.

That's usually what we do. Book at a price I can live with. I guess I'm squirming cause I haven't seen prices this high, over $350. But yes, still much lower then from YVR, even factoring in an overnight hotel in Seattle.
