Just a quick question if I may.

We usually fly from Detroit to any destinations in the US. Since I could get a better deal this time flying from Toronto we decided to do that.

I'm not familiar with the process though since we always just cross the border by car in Windsor.

I know in Toronto that you go through security and border control before you get on the airplane.

Is it the same way in Miami? Border control before the flight or do you go through customs when you arrive in Canada?

Not sure if it makes a difference by our return flight is by way to Montreal and then to Toronto.

Thanks for all of your help.

You will go through customs when you land in Toronto. If you have a connecting flight to Montreal make are sure you have time between so that you can go through customs. Sometimes it can be a bit slow moving.

On your return flight, you will clear Customs when you first enter Canada. I agree with the PP. Make sure you allow sufficient time to make your connection.

Thanks for the replies.

We are flying in to Montreal first and then have a connecting flight to Toronto.

We have 2 hours and 20 minutes between flights.

2h20 is plenty of time and worst case scenario, there are flights every hour between YUL and Pearson.
