I have heard lots of great thing about flying fish . I looked over the menu a nd what everyone's fav was...is it worth it oop. No dining plan

Definately worth it. We never use the dining plan and always visit this establishment. The sig dish potato encrusted red snapper is wonderful. The cheese plate or crab cakes are a great start. Enjoy!

I think it's definitely worth it out of pocket, but we never get the dining plan so for us everything is out of pocket.

The thing that was most memorable from our visit last fall was the appetizer. We both loved our entrées and desserts, but the chardonnay-steamed mussels with pesto crema that we shared to start the meal was a real highlight. I think I could have easily had those as my entrée and been happy as a clam.

I've never been disappointed at FF and I've dined there several times. It's one of the few places I repeat each time I go back to Disney. Yes, OOP is worth it!

Our only MUST DO every visit. The chef there is so wonderful to our DD who is vegan. He always creates something wonderful for her. Both seafood and steak done extremely well. The trio of sorbets is always my favorite dessert.

We also don't use the dining plan and Flying Fish is one of our very few must do's every trip. We actually ate there twice on our last trip, once as part of the Chef's Wine Tasting Dinner and once off the regular menu (I needed my Carmelized Banana Napoleon fix... best dessert on property). When looking at the menus, unless it is one of the restaurants Signature dishes, don't get your heart set on any particular dishes. The menu changes quite frequently as different ingredients become available or go out of season. The menu I have from October (we got personalized menus when we ate off the regular menu because we noted our engagement on our reservation) is pretty different than the menu on allears.

I know i am in the minority here on the DIS when i say i will not go back to FF. Everyone here raved about it and i was less than impressed when i ate there in December. Trying a new seafood restaurant in April----Fultons.

I thought the food was OK but there wasnt alot of it for the price and i have had better seafood, and the waiter was a little rude especially when i told him we had the TiW card, just seemed he couldnt be bothered probably cause his tip was already going to be added to the bill.

Nicest person there was the manager becasue she had to come over when my DW meal came out raw

In my last 3 visits, I've had the scallops, snapper and tuna. My favorite has been the tuna.

I really enjoy the cheese plate here; it's my favorite at WDW outside of V&A's.

I can't recommend any desserts since we skip that course.

We never do dining plan and we enjoy Flying Fish for a family meal. When we are adults only, we prefer bluezoo for our fish/seafood.

We never do the DDP, and love the FF! I get the scallops and DH gets the Snapper. YUM! FF is a must DO for us each visit. CM's are wonderful. Make sure when you book your ADR's you tell them regarding your special occasion, they make it very special.

FF is our favorite signature restaurant on property. It's a must-do for my DH each trip. We have never had a rude waiter and we use the TIW card there every time. Our favorite dishes are the mussels, crab cakes, potato-crusted snapper, the NY Strip steak and the scallops. They always make a great risotto also. We enjoy sitting at the counter looking into the kitchen.

In our experience, Flying Fish is very inconsistent. One meal will be excellent & another will be average at best. If paying OOP, I would recommend you go to bluezoo in Dolphin resort instead.

Just like many others, we love the FF and it is a must on every trip. We have always had great service and the food has been AMAZING. My favorite entree is the char-crusted NY strip...and I love the banana dessert!!!

We ate here for our first time this last December. We loved it! This is now one of the top restaurants on our list to repeat next time....however, we were on the dining plan so we didn't worry about the price.

This is exactly why I don't tell them I have a tiw card until I tell them I'm ready for my bill. But to answer the question. The food is very good here.

I had dinner at FF on 2/14 - They had a special for Valentine's Day that my server said they were going to make a regular feature on the menu - and someone who posted here and ate after that date had the same thing, so apparently it's on there now: It's a 3-course prix fixe dinner featuring their signature dishes, caesar salad and a crab cake for appetizer, smaller portions of the potato-wrapped red snapper and NY strip steak for entree (still plenty of food!), and banana napoleon for dessert. I really enjoyed it, especially the crab cake, which was one of my favorite food items of the entire trip. I've only been once, so can't comment on consistency, but I was very pleased with food and service (I was solo, FWIW) and would definitely go back.

We had a great anniversary dinner at FF last year. I had the scallops and risotto and it was delish! For dessert I got the trio of boardwalk treats, which had a fun presentation and was tasty too.

That sounds amazing! I've been wanting to try FF and this sounds like a great way to try several of their top dishes.

We went here last trip based off of the rave reviews it gets on this board. Honestly, I thought it was over rated and did not stack up to what I consider a "signature" dining establishment. The place is really cool, the appetizers we had were excellent but I went in thinkign this potato crusted snapper was going to be amazing and it was not at all. The fish to me seemed like a glorified fish and chips plate. My wife got some other type of fish which I can't remember what it was, but we both thought the special at coral reef we had earlier in the week was better.

Another FF fan here! In December, DH and I did the Chef's Table---what a marvelous experience. Next week, we're going for a "regular" dinner. It's so convenient--especially since we stay at the BWI. This is one that I'd definitely give a try.

This is our first dinner each time we arrive in Disney World! We love the fish specials, potato wrapped red snapper is awesoew, & the scallops are fabulous!
