I know you guys recommended it but I have to say our meal at Flying Fish was the best surprise of our recent trip. We enjoyed the calamari, the scallops, the crab cake, the potato wrapped snapper, the mussels-it was all wonderful. Tim, our server, was excellent (even offered my husband his glasses when he had trouble reading the wine list) and the atmosphere was quiet without being stuffy. We will definetly make it a must during our next EPCOT visit.
We also had a great steak at Yachtsman's-the filet mignon. My husband decided to splurge on the $57 special that evening and was very disappointed he didn't get the filet. His tasted more like a marinated sirloin we would throw on the grill at home compared to the melt-in-your-mouth filet the rest of the table enjoyed.
This was our first time to try to Cobb Salad and grapefruit cake at Brown Derby. Cobb Salad is something we order regularly so we were looking forward to the original. We really liked the flavor but the wet consistentcy of the tiny chopped lettuce was slightly strange--not bad, mind you--just very different. But I would order it again. The Grapefruit cake-not for us. I had read so many great reviews but I don't know if it just isn't too our taste or if we got a bad one. The cake was a bit dry, the icing was hard and pretty tasteless. The only thing with flavor was the grapefruit sauce on the plate and it was very sour. But if you soaked it up with the cake it was edible. Won't try that one again.
All in all- a nice tour around the worlds with good food to be found everywhere.
