Both are fine. I would say FF, because of the seafood and the overall quality, which of course comes with a higher price tag. But, there is nothing wrong with Spoodles.
Check out the menus in advance, and see which one fits you best.
FF is mostly seafood. If you or someone in your party doesn't like seafood then it is probably not the best choice.
Some people rave about FF. When I finally got around to eating there I thought it was *ok* but nothing to really rave about. But maybe the hype lead me to expect something more. I know the much hyped "Peeky toe crab cakes" weren't all that.
We like Spoodles, but we love the Flying Fish. When we eat at Spoodles, we usually get some appetizers and a drink. They have some of the best appetizers on property.
At the Flying Fish, I love the Potato-Wrapped Red Snapper and my wife enjoys the Oak-Grilled Maine Diver Scallops. The Flying Fish is a little more pricey than Spoodles, but IMHO, it's worth it.
Flying Fish! Great (although noisy) atmosphere, great food! The potato-wrapped snapper is excellent...I found the recipe here on the Dis and got my DH (chef) to make it
I've been to both and love Spoodles for breakfast and FF for dinner. We always sit at the bar where you can see the guys cook. It's really beautifully tiled and we think its more fun than sitting at a table. And usually you don't need an ADR.
