Flying Fish - Outstanding!

We just returned this morning from a wonderful stay! We had dinner at the Flying Fish on Thursday night and it was truly outstanding! Last year I remember that I didn't enjoy it quite as much as before the rehab, but this year our dinners were both excellent. DH had the Kanpachi (sp?) a white fish from Hawaii and I had scallops and pasta - both were perfectly seared and seasoned. We also shared a pork belly appetizer - really good and highly recommended! Have to admit, I'm not a fan of the seaweed bread, but DH really liked it. There's lots of bar space there so if you don't have ADR's and no children, there will most likely be a seat available.

Great to hear! We too were disappointed with it last year but when I saw they expanded the menu to include some old faves and added more fish options I was excited!

That's awesome. My DW and I try to make it to Flying Fish each trip, but we will also try to substitute it for another nice table service when we get the chance to try something new. I was glad to hear that most of the DIS crew shared the same enjoyment from their reviews.

We actually dined there prior to the renovations so we were hoping the service & quality were not going to be compromised during the changes. Thankfully this restaurant has been consistent each and every meal. My DW is vegetarian and fortunately the Chefs at Flying Fish are creative enough to not to just send out a plate of steamed veggies. I love seafood so each chance we go there's always something new to enjoy.

Flying Fish is also one of the reasons we love staying at the Beach & Yacht Club resorts.

We enjoyed the Abacadabar before our meal and our meal was good but the service was horrible. It just seemed to be our server and not all the others. We figure we will most likely give it another chance some time in the future but we don't like to repeat places so it will be awhile.

Thanks for the review. I have a reservation there on Saturday (Saturday :cool1:!!!) and since reviews for Flying Fish are often mixed it's nice to read something good.

I am glad to be reading positive reviews about FF lately. We had a magnificent dinner there in 2012 before the renovation.

Our next trip was in October 2016 after it had just reopened, but the new menu did not appeal to me at all. We thought about going there in September 2017 because of the 20% AP discount, but we didn’t make it.

Maybe we’ll try it next time if I keep reading such good reviews. :) Thanks, @patsfan101.

Was that the scallops with the pasta nero? If so that was 12 y/o DGD's first "adult" restaurant meal and I was sooo proud of her for choosing and enjoying it. Who knows? She might even eat mac and cheese someday (she hates cheese), LOL.

They even had desserts that tasted like more than pretty sugar.
We like FF enough that we ate there twice last trip and it's location is influencing our choice of hotel.
