I know most would pick FF if on the DDP, but since I'll be paying OOP, is FF that much better (in terms of food quality and overall experience)? :confused3 Thanks! :goodvibes

You're talking about 2 different levels of service and food. It's like comparing a value/moderate resort to a deluxe resort or a 3 star to a 5 star restaurant.

FF is definitely a top rated restaurant because of the food quality, service and atmosphere and I have to support that. We've always REALLY enjoyed all of the above at FF. Many of the resorts have their "top shelf" restaurants and then a "mediocre" restaurant. Don't get me wrong. The mediocre restaurants are good and depending sometimes better than the "top shelf" but in this case I have to definitely side with FF.

Captain's Grille food is good, not great but I would recommend lunch there...it rates along with your franchise type of restaurant you'd find in your town.

To answer your question, IMHO, yes FF is "that" much better than CG.;)

When I was calling about ADRs last week, the CM told me that he thinks Captain's Grill has the best steak at DW. We haven't eaten there yet, but I thought that was interesting. FF would certainly be alot more expensive than Capts Grill.

We have done both and FF is insanely fantastic! Pics and review are in my Oct thread.

We have also done Capt Grill and enjoyed dinner there very much, pics and review are in my March/April thread.

If I had to choose, FF hands down

We pay OOP and no question, FF is worth the extra $$ over Captains Grill.

Most definitely FF is worth the extra $$$ and they have the best steak I've had on property.:thumbsup2

FF hands down - no competition! The CG is average (at best)! Service is good, but after 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner I doubt I will go back - ever. The recent rehab has left the room dark and drab. The color palette is the same but the darker hues have really dumbed it down. Food was mediocre or less, service good, presentation of food was non existent. They all cost $$$ so at least go to one with great food and good service like the FF..

We have not eaten at FF but we did do Captain's Grille for dinner this past July.

The meal (we had steaks) at CG was just okay - nothing memorable.

I do remember that we had an early seating - 5:30 - and there was nobody there except us and one other couple!

Also, the waitress introduced herself with a name that was different than her name tag.

:lmao:
