Flying Fish or Artist Point?

I'm working on a back-up ADR in case we can't get one of the restaurants we want. I have narrowed it down to one of the above. We are on the DXDP. We are a family of 4 with two young daughters who are used to dining out. The younger one (almost 3) sometimes has problems sitting still, but will generally do OK if I bring entertainment along- which I plan to do. That being said, the menus both look good to me and I have never been to either one of them. Which one would you suggest and why? I'm looking forward to your responses.

Hands down Flying Fish, we ate there in Oct and it was the best meal ever! Plan on going back again this Oct

Another Flying Fish recommendation. We enjoyed are meal more at Flying Fish. Artist Pointe was fine and we had an attentive server but Flying Fish provided a greater overall level of satisfaction.

I would also vote for Flying Fish Cafe because the last time I ate at Artist Point, it wasn't that good. It was nowhere near as good as two years ago. I've eaten there four times and each time it was progressively worse.

I had the scallops at Flying Fish and they were perfect!

Flying Fish also. I like Artist Point but the meals are a little more drawn out and the atmosphere is a little quieter. There are usually kids at AP, but, to my recollection, fewer than most other signatures.

Let's make it 5 for the Flying Fish. That's exactly where we are in our photo--enjoying a meal at the FF bar.
They have a great steak and the potato wrapped red snapper is excellent also.
Their crab cake might be hawked by your server as "Maryland style"--but don't be fooled by that. Nothing like the real thing. It's ok as an appetizer though.

We've never done Artist Pointe. We did FF a few years ago and did not care for it. We could have had a bad night, but our meal was not worth the money we paid.

Another vote for Flying Fish...really good, creative seafood dishes, interesting drinks and desserts and fun yet sophicticated decor...:thumbsup2

There isn't anything wrong with Artist's Point (or at least there wasn't when I was there)...the food and service were both good but FFish just has something more (for lack of a better word) special going for it...

Flying Fish. Better food, better atmosphere, and really good service.
AP is not bad but FF is better.

I haven't tried Artist Point yet so I'm quite biased when I say: Flying Fish. It wound up being my favorite restaurant last trip, even though service sucked. At least, for me, I had horrible service but the food more than made-up for it. I even had a message on my phone the next morning from the FF manager asking if my dinner had been satisfactory and to call him if I needed anything. I do not know if that call is a normal call, I did not see or speak to him at my meal the night before, or if it was because I was staying at the Boardwalk Inn and it is a BW restaurant.

Flying Fish has some of the best food we have ever had on DIsney property.

I guess I'm the only one saying this but I think you'd be happy at either - I have been a big FF fan but we had a mediocre meal in October which knocked them out of our rotation for a few trips. If you go with the scallops, salmon or buffalo at AP you will be pleased. My wife had the scallops at both FF and AP on the Oct trip and preferred AP.
