Flying Fish - I don't eat that!

My husband and I are eating at the FF on Tuesday evening. He loves fish; I don't. How's the steak at the FF? The crab cake appetizer looks good. What about the scallops? Thanx!

We haven't eaten there yet, but if you check on the restaurant reviews board (sub-board of this one), you will find so many stellar reviews of FF. People seem to LOVE the scallops AND the steak. And a few weeks back, there were a couple of threads about the "best steak in WDW," a significant number of DISers voted for FF. And many have stated the crab cake is the best they've ever had. We can't wait to try it in August. We already know I am having the crab cake appy, DS is ordering steak and DD is ordering scallops!

The scallops were some of the best I've ever had:

If you want to try something different ask to sit at the Chef's Bar - it seats about 6 & overlooks the kitchen. The chefs interact with you while they're cooking, it was a lot of fun.

MickeyNicki has a few reviews from FF and I believe on all of them her DH gets the strip and he says it's the best he's ever had. I want to try it too but we are doing Yachtsman and I don't want to do steak overload.

Love the Flying Fish, there are other meals beside fish. I think last year DH got some kind of pasta dish.

Flying Fish is in my top 5 favorite restaurants at Disney. I would pick fish over meat any day.

I don't eat fish either. I had a pork dish at FF that was pretty good ... DH had the steak and liked it.

We are huge fish eaters and the scallops are very good. This is our favorite restaurant of those offered on Disney's dining plan. We had a non fish eater with us on our last visit and there were raves about the steak.

I just ate there about a week ago and I tasted the steak. I thought it was fantastic! Also, the current vegetarian entree, Butternut squash and goat cheese ravioli, was amazing. Evereything we at there was fabulous.

Flying Fish is my favourite restaurant, and DH's as well. He says the steak is the best on property, and I agree! The scallops are also wonderful - only wish I could combine both into one meal somehow.

OMG>>> The Steak at Flying Fish is AMAZING!! I can taste it now.. it is the only thing I order when I am there.. and in my opinion... it is the BEST steak on Disney Property... for that matter.. anywhere! Go and Enjoy!!!

I always say I am going to try their steak, but for some reason always end up ordering their scallops. They are sooo good! Flying Fish is probably my favorite signature restaurant. My favorite meal there is either their mussels or tomato/mozzarella salad for an appetizer, scallops, and trio of chocolate.

We love that place so much we'll often visit multiple times per trip. If you really want to try something good - I suggest the Potato Crusted Snapper. It's over a bed of leeks and has the most delicious red sauce. I had never liked either before I tried them there and it is one of my favorite dishes now.

Since it's one of their signature dishes, I believe it should still be on the menu. I have also gotten the steak and it's perfectly seasoned and is one of the best on property. Keep in mind they do change their menu daily, adding different daily specials. So there are plenty of options to try.

We have had excellent food and service on all occasions we've visited and I highly recommend it! You won't be disappointed.

Love the Flying Fish! Also, love the crab cake appetizer. But, the last time we were there, I couldn't finish it. This crab cake is a substantial appetizer (the absolute opposite of the famous "lonely little crab cake") -- you may wish to share it/order a fairly light main plate afterwards.

My dad, who is now 80, traveled extensively when he was working. We took them to WDW in 2002 and we ate at Flying Fish. To this day, he ranks the steak as one of his top 5 EVER. From him (he likes it rare and trust me, he's picky) that is high praise.

The NY strip is the BEST!!! It is absolutely amazing. My favorite meal on property by far!!!

I love the steak at FF!! My dh is a huge seafood lover, me, not so much. He loved the scallops. But I have to say...the beef I've had at FF is some of the best beef I've had at WDW. I ate at Yachtsman Steak House in Dec...my filet was badly overcooked. I just was completely underwhelmed. So, when I got to FF and had my usual beef, I was thrilled. So yummy. And the creme brulee...oh, to die for.

Everybody raves about the steak at Flying Fish. The menu description calls it one of the restaurant's signature dishes. They also offer a beef short rib dish and a vegetarian ravioli, both of which I suspect are equally delicious. Flying Fish is consistently one of the best restaurants on property, even for landlubbers.
