My husband and I really want to try Flying Fish but would like to go after spending the day at HS rather than going back to our hotel to change. How dressed up do people get? I would definitely where something a little nicer to the park that day (collared shirt for my husband, no jean shorts) but we will be wearing comfortable shoes (tennis shoes or flip flops). Am I going to feel like a total slob?

Are you asking about Disney's dress code, or what people actually wear? Nothing you have listed will break Disney's dress code. They prohibit only swimwear, torn clothing, cutoff shorts, hats and tank tops for men, and tee shirts with "offensive" graphics or slogans. They don't prohibit denim shorts if they're not cutoffs. Footwear is not mentioned at all but I would guess it would probably not be best to wear the kind of plastic flipflops worn to pools.

Not at all. You'll be fine in that. Disney seems to more strictly enforce the dress code at the CG and I've seen people in regular park clothes there, so no worries for the Flying Fish.

Have fun! The food there is great!

And they will make men remove their hats. I've seen them have to tell men this everytime we've dined here.

I don't ever remember reading that hats were not allowed at Flying Fish. Only seen that mentioned for California Grill, Victoria & Alberts and Narcoossee's. Now I haven't been to the Flying Fish but I think a restaurant which equals it would be Fulton's Crab House which I have been to and I wore my hat there without any problems.

It's definitely not stuffy, and you should be fine with what you've said...so long as any neon ripped muscle shirts or the Austin 3:16 shirt with bleach stains stay home:lmao:

That is the typical list of prohibited items given for all Disney signature restaurants at resorts (not those inside theme parks). Fulton's is not a Disney restaurant and is not bound by Disney's policies. Of course whether or not Disney enforces its own policies is another question.
