I'm a little worried....when I made my ADR's, the lady said Flying Fish was "dressy casual", which would be fine, but we will be coming straight from a day in Epcot.

Can I get away with wearing blue jean capris, sandals and a sleeveless blouse?

Can DH wear khaki shorts, a polo shirt & sandals (or tennis shoes).

I don't want to be an idiot and have us stick out like sore thumbs....

When I recently made my ADR for June the CM said that "business casual" meant no t-shrts and no swimsuits; that a collared shirt and khaki style shorts or denim was fine for men, and corresponding attire for women. I don't remember what was said about footwear, but I'm sure sandals would be fine.

Hi Nanabug,

Don't worry about the dress "code", it's just a suggestion! As Slcmkh said, they are trying to keep swimsuits out of the restaurants. I have seen plenty of t-shirts and shorts in the "finer" restaurants. If you do a search on this board for "dress code" or "business casual" you'll find lots of threads on this topic!

Enjoy,

Bob

Yes, yes and yes. You can wear everything you listed. We dine here a lot ... and love it! Always dress pretty casual, sneakers, capris, shorts, etc. We have also worn sandals as well (or the nice thong shoes that can be considered a flip flop but not the rubber pool type).

Most of the "biz casual" dress code is to discourage "pool attire". They are discouraging against bathing suits and cover-ups with pool flip flops.

You won't "stick out" at all with your planned attire as it is a nice mix of fashion at all of the biz casual restaurants :earboy2:

You'll be fine.

I think in addition to keeping out swimsuits, they are trying to keep out "sloppy" - you know, the guy wearing his favorite tshirt from when Devo toured in 1988.

Yes, you will be fine. We always go there at least once during each visit which is twice a year. We were there Jan 3, 5 & Jan 6. I can tell you that we saw it all. FF is not stuffy and they just want to serve good food and have people be happy. Enjoy and ask for Joe, Joey or Theresa - say hi to Penny at the hostess desk for us :Pinkbounc

Crisi, your sense of humor is very much appreciated. Your Devo '88 tour t-shirt comment was a classic.
