Flying Fish Chef's Table (taboo??)

Her opinion is perfectly acceptable and valid.
carry on nicely please :)

Why does everyone think I'm a her. :goodvibes;)

Actually most people I talk to on the phone think I'm a women because of my voice and because they mistake my name as Chris.

I don't know the official rules, but if I were signed up for this experience, it would be quite unexpected to find myself seated with a child that young.

Unexpected?!? I would be livid, but with my most cordial voice I'd be askin' for a refund so I could return at a different time.

But I'll give some points to the husband for wantin' to be a good guy to his wife! :thumbsup2

I don't think it's appropriate. I'd be upset if I were at the table because I would be expecting a nice meal with dh and myself. I would have gotten a sitter for my children and would feel that the same should be done in this situation.

On a side note.... we do take our kids and have taken them very young to signature restaurants. I have no problem with that.... but I feel this experience is designed for adults.

I have this crazy idea... why don't you call the restaurant directly, ask to speak to the manager, and ask them if an infant is allowed? :rolleyes1

Most of what you seem to be getting here is opinions, not necessarily fact. I think you should just go straight to the horse's mouth, or the fish's mouth in this case.

The OP asked for opinions!!!
I agree with Uncle Remus, I would be very upset. I too would be asking for a refund. I would not choose to experience the Chef's Table with an 18mo at the table.

To the OP. 18 months is hit or miss. Our DD (now 7) was a perfect angel at 18 months in one restaurant and the next, I knew not to show our face for awhile! Since this takes place in the kitchen, I'm guessing having a "spot" for your toddler may be the issue. Many of the signatures offer wine suggestions with each course, while clearly not the same, it does offer more of a "dining" instead of "eating" experience. Narcoosee's would be one that comes to mind and the BlueZoo suggestion would be good as well. Kudos to you for wanting to do something special for your wife! I suggest the BlueZoo reservation with a long stemmed rose gift waiting at your table for her. Best wishes on your plans!

Opinions will only matter if the baby is even allowed to go. Find out it it's allowed first before you worry about what people think.

This was my first thought too.:rotfl: As much as I love kids, I don't think it would be appropriate or fair to the other diners to take one that young. It is obviously meant to be an adult setting. I'd be politely, but quietly asking to reschedule myself for a different time and doubt if I'd be the only one.

Livid. EXactly the word that came to mind when I imagined my husband seated near a child for this! ;)

I would have to say it is pretty obvious that this is not the kind of meal an infant should be attending. And I can see being on the receiving end of a bunch of hositily from the other guests. Please either find a babysitter or rethink your plans.
