How far is it from the smaller planes gates to the full size plane gates at Ohare? The reason I am asking is I am concerned about only having a 25 min. time difference from when our flight lands from Orlando and the American Eagle flight takes off.
Midwest is pulling out of our airport at the end of this month and I had F.F. tickets with them for Jan./Feb. trip. Had to buy tickets and haven't flown AA in a very long time. My concern is the second part of our flight home is the last flight in for the night. Do you think they will adjust the schedules in our favor before the end of Jan. or switch us to an earlier flight? The only good thing about changing airlines is it is a participating airline for DME.:thumbsup2

No matter where it is 25 mins is cutting it way too close. ORD always has delays so I wouldn't chance it. I would try for another flight now.

You may have to change terminals, which wouldn't be realistic in 25 minutes. Add to that the risk of winter weather in January, and you're setting yourself up for a night in Chicago. I'm not a fan of connections, and absolutely try to avoid the last one of the day, even when weather and gate location is not likely an issue.

I think all of the American flights are in to and out of Terminal 3. A possible problem is that Terminal 3 has 4 concourses: G, H, K, and L. Many American Eagle flights come into G, some into H. Regular American flights go in and out of H, K, and L. The walk is not terrible, but 25 mins is pretty tight for O'Hare. If you go through with it, I'd bring a change of clothes in your carry-on. Good luck! May the Travel Gods be with you!

Call American and tell them you're not comfortable with the amount of time you have to make your connection. If your connecting flight is the last of the day, they will place you on an earlier first leg (no charge) to make the itinerary work better. I wouldn't risk 25 minutes when that's about the normal amount of time for delays in winter even without a storm...

Good luck!

I used to make that exact sprint every week (it was the only option I had that got me home at a reasonable hour) and never once missed my connection, but I would strongly advise against trying it. The AE flights all come in at the G concourse, so you can have a long walk to get out of there; then you have to hang a right and get over to the AA concourses. You don't have to go through security, which is the only saving grace, but you can have a long walk/run down the other concourses to get to your gate. Even though I made it every time, I almost always was one of the last ones on the plane and was quite harried by the time I got there. If you're trying to get a family through, it would be essentially impossible.

I thought you needed at least 30 minutes between flights to have a legal connection.

It may be a legal connection - just not a great connection for sure!

I wouldnt do it because of it being the last flight out

I once had an agent tell me to try not to book the last flight out of chicago

any other choices? sorry to hear about midwest pulling out on you- that is my airline of choice as well.
