didn't even think about this but will I have any troubles on Monday flying home from Calgary alone with the kids? Dh is with us on the way out but then he needs to stay for the rest of the week for buisness - I have to bring the kids home on my own  :scared1: :scared:

Depends on how much sugar you feed them before the flight! :lmao: :lmao:

Sorry, could not resist.

As I have not flown within Canada, cannot answer this question. :confused3

Anybody?

Thanks loads for that Janet - I'm sure if my dh has the chance he'll fill them up with sugar before the 1:30 flight! I get the fun task of dealing with the we're leaving dad tears from the 6yo (while I may want to cheer the fact that I have the bed to myself for the better part of a week :lmao: )

When flying alone with children you need a notorized letter from husband/ spouse given you permission to fly them to or out of country. Custody papers if you are separated.

Been there, done that!

charleyann :confused3

I have flown a couple of times with my kids and without my DH. Once from Ireland and once from Florida. I always carry a 'permission' letter (not notarized-just written and signed by DH) I had to show it coming from Ireland but not Florida. I frequently take my children over the boarder (driving) and bring the same thing. It has never been an issue.

It's definitely been an issue at Pearson. One of my friends flew out to the US with her children (no problems). Tried to come back into Toronto, and they were preventing her, even though her husband was waiting in arrivals! And, that was pre-9-11. You definitely need legal documentation that you have your spouse/ex-spouse/whatever's permission to be travalleing with your children. You may not be asked... but if you were... let's just say it's already a nightmare going through airports with small children :goodvibes
