Hey,

No luck at all getting on my sister's flight to Orlando tommorow morning :confused3. The other resort is for $276.00 (not bad at all!) to fly alone later in the day, and have the SAME flights coming home. Now for most people this would be an easy option, but I have only flown four times total (all only to MCO) and NEVER alone. I'm not anxious about something bad happening to the flight, it's more just being anxious about being anxious about flying (whoa was that a lot). I've traveled AMTRAK alone if that is any compliment :rotfl: , why not a plane ride about the same time!

The flight would go from LGA to ATL, then a stopover for an hour or so and head from ATL to MCO!

Ahhhhhhhh.

I've never done a connecting flight, but either way I think you'll be ok! You're still going to WDW. And look at it this way, your sister can be waiting for you at the airport holding a sign w/your name on it. You'll feel like a movie star.

(also if you're buying a ticket for the same airline, you might want to go early, w/your sister, see if you can get a standby seat)

Enjoy!

My husband and I fly between Chicago and Orlando a lot, and often we have to split up and fly alone due to our schedules. I am a very, very nervous flyer. For the turbulent flights, I take Xanax so I won't run up and down the aisles screaming ;) I make sure I bring lots of things to keep me busy, i.e. books, latop, DVD player, which makes the time go very quickly. Or sometimes I just take the opportunity to nap; I just flew to Chicago by myself yesterday and nodded off (I bring a neck pillow for sleeping). Next thing I knew, I was awakened by the announcement to raise seatbacks and tray tables for landing! Also, you may find yourself seated by a chatty person. That has happened to me a few times, and if the person next to me wants to talk, I follow their lead. I've spoken to some really interesting people onboard planes.

You'll be fine. :) Take a book or buy some magazines at the airport bookstore (I always bring my own and ALWAYS end up buying new ones anyway!). I fly alone all the time for business and to be honest, it's kind of relaxing -- I don't have to worry about whether or not anyone has all their stuff or if they are comfortable or whatever.

One word of caution about your stopover. Do not dawdle in Atlanta -- that airport is a huge time suck IME! The gates are very far apart and I always feel like I'm in a cattle herd whenever I have to go from one terminal to another. Go to your gate and make sure that's really where your flight is leaving from (I find ATL gates change a lot), then go to the restroom, get a snack, etc.

Oh -- go get a Chik-Fil-A chicken biscuit (or sandwich if it's lunchtime) while you are in Atlanta if you can! Something you can hardly get up here in the north anywhere! :)

Thank you everyone for the advice! I'm making a decision shortly!

PS - Chik-Fil-A is at the mall I work in (Paramus Park), so I have it everyday LOL
