Fly Down, Rent a Car and Drive Back?

We're flying down and driving back to NOLA in May. Renting through Alamo, my rate for a minivan for 1 week is with tax $192.96. Many places discourage one way rentals but Fl has pretty much had great 1 way rates out of state for several years. I booked our tickets to MSY using my SW points so transportation costs for 5 of us about $350- a savings of $1100!
