I got my Moderna booster Saturday morning. Arm is still quite sore, but taking a little Tylenol for it. The weird thing I had, and I wanted to see if this happened to anyone else here, is that I was super tired on Saturday night and Sunday; even today. Like, falling asleep sitting up in a chair! And I was also teeth–chattering cold today, had to get under two blankets to get warm. Very unusual. But that was the extent of it, did not feel unwell at all. Anyone else?

That's similar to what I had after my 2nd dose - like I hit a wall, I was falling asleep as I watched TV and extremely nauseated. It lasted about an hour. Then I was chilly (as in turn up the electric blanket, chilly) for the rest of the evening.

DH & I both got the Pfizer booster last week and he had the chills and I had the exhaustion.

Had my flu shot two weeks ago. Had a VERY sore arm and swollen armpit for a few days after. The tech that administered it wasn't the smoothest so I'm not entirely sure if it was the shot or the administration.

Had the Covid booster (Moderna) yesterday afternoon. Mildly sore arm, and I'm quite tired this morning, but I'm an educator so that may not have anything to do with the vaccine. I had the redness and lymph swelling a week after the first Moderna and just intense thirst after the second Moderna so I'm not really expecting any issues with the booster.

DH and DS got their flu shots, not last Friday, but the Friday before that. DS was down that Sunday with fever, vomiting and stomach pain; could be related, could not. DH had a little bit of tiredness, but that could just be his old age, lol.

I had my flu shot last Tuesday. On Thursday afternoon, I started feeling yucky; didn't have the energy to cheer for the Broncos at all. Woke up Friday with a sore throat, swollen gland on one side, and a bad earache. I did an online chat with a doc (DH's company has a program where it is $0 for this program); got some Ofloxacin for the ear, and if it didn't get better, to go to urgent care. Ear was better within 24 hours (still finishing the meds); throat also; just a small knot left on the neck that shrinks more each day.


I'm glad I waited to get my booster for a few more weeks. I had some side effects from the 2nd one, and I would not like to have doubled the symptoms, lol.

I got my flu shot 2 Fridays ago. My arm was a little sore, no biggie.

Got Pfizer #3 Friday and it kicked my booty. So did #2. About 14 hours later I got bone aches, achy skin, low grade fever, fatigue and some GI symptoms. Sunday I was breaking out in bad sweats in the morning and after that I felt better. Maybe some lingering fatigue. I would say similar or maybe a tad better than #2.

My DD (30) got her Pfizer #3 yesterday and it's kicking her butt today. Couldn't sleep, body aches, fever. But this was the same reaction she had for #2.

I got my flu shot last week and no so arm this year. I've been getting the flu shot for 30 years or so and some years, my arm is sore and others it is not. This is one of the not sore arm years.

My husband got the Moderna booster and his flu shot on Sunday. He didn't feel well yesterday and his booster shot arm is a little sore, but he's much better today. I'm not yet eligible for the Moderna booster.

My sore Moderna booster arm is fine now as of yesterday. Got the shot Friday afternoon, arm was fine until Saturday, then quite achy. Sunday also. Almost all fine yesterday, all fine today, Tuesday.

On another subject, sort of, my son, Vince, came down with a breakthrough COVID Friday. He is fully vaccinated, Pfizer, as of back last Dec, 2020, like 11 months ago. He felt congested, headache, coughing. He is a FF/paramed and his wife is an ER nurse. They have quick tests at home. He did the test, positive. Took temp, 102º. Quarantining in downstairs MIL 'apartment' at their house. He did go to the immediate care where his wife works sometimes. He got a PCR test there. A quick test there also was positive. They told him to go to her hospital and get an infusion of monoclonal antibody, Regeneron. He did and went back home last night. Have not talked to him yet today.

The COVID boosters are important. He is the 4th FF/paramed (smaller Chicago suburban FD) to get a breakthrough in the past 6 or so weeks. All were vaccinated, Pfizer, back last December, 11 months ago. None have had their boosters. 4 out of about 16 or so FF's is a lot of people getting sick. They have all been fine for about 8-9 months, doing their jobs, dealing with lots of people, in their faces and what have you. As has been said by CDC, vaccine protection appears to wane after 6 or so months, so a booster is appropriate.

DD's boyfriend's brother and sister-in-law came down with COVID also. Fully vaccinated. (not the 3rd though), but their 5 year old DD didn't. She went to stay with boyfriend. they both have tested negative twice so did his mother, so after that she went to stay with grandma.

This evening my arm is sore and I am tired.
The site I went to was busy, but everyone was very nice. Glad to have this done.

I got the moderna booster on Monday. Had chills Monday night, could not sleep well due to being so cold. Tuesday I was queasy, tired, and a bit achy. My arm is still swollen, sore, and itchy. I still can't raise it too high without pain. This is better than after my second moderna shot when I felt like I had the flu and ran a temp. Flu shot 4 weeks ago was no problem.

Rather spur of the moment I decided to get my Moderna booster yesterday. So much for hoping side effect might be less with the half dose. Got the shot at 4PM, then started having chills around 10PM. I highly recommend having a heating pad close by when you get your shot. Restless night, lots of body aches and nausea. I just caved and took some ibuprofen.

It's particularly bad having the arm ache so much after dealing with shoulder issues the last 3 years.

Still happy I got it.

It took me a few days to feel more like myself (after Moderna booster). Symptoms were vague, but persistent. With my second Moderna I was fine except for one 12 hr period of malaise. This was different - less intense, but longer lasting.

DH had his Pfizer booster Monday. Arm a little sore Tues, but relatively fine. Wednesday he wasn’t feeling so well, had to go to a class for work, came home and went to bed, had chills, back pain, and fatigue. Wished he’d gotten it on Friday.

Neither of us had any issues w the flu shot.

Extra Strength Tylenol, a heating pad, and lots of water/Powerade zero has been our house’s best friend in all things vax related.

Long day yesterday, but the body aches and chills are done and arm pain is quite a bit better. Still slightly nauseous, but I expect that to improve greatly when I start eating normally this morning.

The part to focus on? I'm very happy I did it.

Even more happy that my 80 something parents got their own Moderna boosters on Monday.

I got my booster 3 weeks ago when Teachers were allowed to get them. I had nothing. Not even a sore arm. I did drink almost 64 oz of water before this one so I don't know if that made a difference or not. After the 2nd one back in February I felt like I had Covid for about 48 hours this time nothing.

I tried to places to get a flu vaccine today. Both places, a rite-aid and giant food store , told me I had to have an appointment.

I do have an appointment for next week, but I was hoping to get it done sooner.

Anyone know how long it take to kick in? A few weeks???

Wow, really? We made appointments for ours (and then ended up waiting 45 mins) but you can walk in just about anywhere here that has a pharmacy and ask for one. A lot of times they have people walking around the stores asking if you want one. I’ve gotten a few that way over the years.
