I got my flu shot yesterday. Although I don't feel achy etc. I spent last night sick as a dog and my stomach is still a little iffy today. My son got the same shot and is fine. Coincidence or reaction??? I've never had trouble with flu shots in the past.

I would guess that it's probably just a coincidence, particularly since you haven't had problems with flu shots in the past. Hope you feel 100% better soon!

I agree, it sounds like a coincidence to me as well. If you do get concerned though, call your doctor. I hope you feel better soon :)

I don't think it's from the shot. The vaccine doesn't contain a live virus. Most common side effect is red at the site. You probably just have a bug that will have to just run it's course.:(

I have been hearing from other nurses that a lot more people have been having mild reactions.....just what I heard recently.

Thanks for the responses. Whatever it was I'm feeling lots better so hopefully thanksgivng will be a go. I got my part done so dh and the kids can take it and go even if I stay home! - Maybe this will keep me from overeating!

My dh had a strange reaction to his flu shot this year and the doctor told him that they are getting more reactions in people this year than in past years (he gets a flu shot every year also and this is the first time he's ever had a reaction). He spoke to a couple of nurses before he talked to the doctor and they told him the same thing too. They did say there was a wide variety of reactons also. I'm glad you are feeling better whatever the cause. :D

I've always had reactions to flu shots, pain - major swelling in the arm. I didn't have any reaction at all this year. :) Sorry you're having difficulties, I guess we're all sensitive to different vaccines and strains.
