Flowers, Segways & DIS Meets, Oh My! - Updated 10/26, Final Thoughts-FINALLY!

Your afternoon at the pool sounds really nice Michelle. I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner and ended the night with Spectro. I've never sat down to watch the parade so I really need to make sure to do so next time. Lovely pictures. :)

Wow, so glad you made it to dinner in time after all that running around! Your meal looked really good! :thumbsup2

Great pics of Spectro; you really lucked out on getting a good spot!

My goodness, that was quite the adventure getting to dinner! Glad you had a good meal and a great server always makes it better!

We sat very close to where you did for Spectro last summer. It really is a great spot overall. I'm hoping to score an equally good spot for MSEP this year.

Yay for MK being next-love that park!!

Great update! I'm glad you were able to enjoy a drink at the Dig Site pool. Your dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe looks really good; I've been reading more and more good reviews of it lately and would like to try it. The hard part will be getting Mark to go as he has an aversion to the GF. Your pictures of Spectromagic are absolutely fabulous!

Your afternoon at the pool sounds very relaxing, and both your drink and your mom's drink sound perfect!

Ugh to having to get all hot and sweaty catching the bus!

Dinner sounds delightful, but I had to laugh that you missed the MK spot -- I say we blame the obnoxious teenage girls for distracting you!

Great Spectro pictures! You had a great parade viewing spot!

ooh those drinks sound so refreshing! sorry about the transportation to your dinner but glad it was ok in the end..even if you folks were all sweaty! LOL! wow, the GF is gorgeous! great pics! glad you liked your meal at GF cafe. probably will try there next time! LOL@missing your stop! totally understandable, Disney really puts your mind somewhere else doesn't it?! LOL! Glad you made it back around ok though! wow, those are gorgeous pics of MK at night. Love it! and great pics of spectro! Looks like you had a really good seat!

Yuck to hot and sweaty! I have to tell you that one of the reasons we rent is car is for the dinner reservations. I know we could easily take a cab, but its worth having that peace of mind that we can get where we need to go. Of course, even with a car we are frequently late! :rotfl:

Dinner looked yummy. I have always wanted to try the GF cafe. The food looks great!

Funny about missing the MK monorail stop! That is something I would do.

You got some really great pictures of Spectro...nice and clear. You got a great spot to watch the parade - nice work!

If Weird and I ever stay on property, I think the one thing I won't be able to get used to is the transportation. I've always been to Florida with a car, so I'm either going to be rushing all the time OR giving myself HUGE windows of time to get there and wasting time in the long run by getting there too early!

Good thing you guys got there on time though! I like the extra work that goes into that roasted corn part of the dish.

Just a quick post to say CONGRATULATIONS to the Oklahoma Sooners baseball team who just won their super regional and are headed to the college World Series!!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Glad you made it to your dinner at the GF!! And I LOVE your Spectro pics!! :lovestruc You got some really good ones!!

I really wanted to see Spectro again; but our schedule never quite worked out for us to be at MK in time for it this trip. So thanks for the Great Spectro pictures!

And I'm so glad that I ate dinner before sitting down. Your GF meal had me salivating!! Glad you made it there in time!

Isn't Spectro wonderful?:lovestruc I absolutely love Wishes, but I think Spectro is my favorite nighttime event at WDW. You took beautiful pictures-- especially of the train station! I can't believe you were able to get a seat that close to show time!!

I know what you are saying about dinner reservations.....it seems that I am always running a bit late after going back to the resort to change etc for the night :sad2: I still don't want to drive though :rotfl: but a cab is not out of the question :thumbsup2
Your dinner looked as delicious as you described....the fondue plate looked like a lot! Disappointing on the dark chocolate....the quality of the chocolate can make all the difference....they should get some from Ghiradelli at DTD :rotfl2:
I :lovestruc Spectro....but would really, really, really like to see MSEP this summer....I am hoping that they will extend it for me until the end of October :rotfl:

Tracy

Nope, worst of it was a bit north of us, we just got a couple of inches. Are you getting hit with this storm too, or the one that flooded those campgrounds a few days ago? I sure hope not since your ticker says you leave in just a few days for a beach trip! You'll have to let me know how it is, I'm dying for a trip to the beach but not sure where to go with all this oil spill mess.
Luckly we didn't get near the rain as OK yesterday. The rain from the flood in central AR went northeast of NWA. We got nothing.
I have high hopes for no oil..... I watch updates everyday and it changes everyday. We spent a little more on our condo this year to get a place with a lazy river and water slide on the beach side. I'll rant a little about the oil. My cousin is a supervisor for an oil company in Louisiana, he said from what he knows is they should go in with dynamite and blow the well up. However, this is where BP is greedy, if the well is blown up they loose rites to drill there again. :confused3 I'm done with my PSA. Sorry for hijacking your TR!
Your pork chop looked dilish from the GF Cafe.

Your afternoon at the pool sounded perfect! :thumbsup2

The grand circle tour....:rotfl2: Too funny!

Both of your dinners looked fantastic!

Glad you enjoyed Spectro.......it is such a wonderful parade! I'm sad to be missing it this summer, but I'm looking forward to the Main Street Electrical Parade!!!

Wow, you got such great photos of Spectro! It makes me want to go back so badly! I can just hear the music in my head.

You meal at the GF looks delicious. Just one more place to add to my ever growing lsit of places to eat at WDW.

Wasn't a pool break (with an adult beverage) so nice in the heat?

Thanks! I was listening to my Spectro CD earlier and it transported me right back there :goodvibes

Everytime I read a TR it seems like I add a new restaurant to list of ones I want to try - there are just so many good ones!

We took a pool break almost daily, even if it was just for 20 minutes or so, it was much needed!

Your afternoon at the pool sounds really nice Michelle. I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner and ended the night with Spectro. I've never sat down to watch the parade so I really need to make sure to do so next time. Lovely pictures. :)

My boys are not parade people, so I never get to see parades, I wanted to be sure that I at least saw Spectro this trip!

Wow, so glad you made it to dinner in time after all that running around! Your meal looked really good! :thumbsup2

Great pics of Spectro; you really lucked out on getting a good spot!

I wondered more than once what would happen if we were late to our ADR because things did not look promising

I was so surprised to find a curb spot so close to parade time, lucky for sure!

It was an adventure - one I would have rather not taken! :lmao: Never again, it will be cabs for me :thumbsup2 Being able to relax and enjoy our meal did make it better though.

I can't wait to hear all about the MSEP (and see the pics!) when you write your report. I can't go this summer so I'm going to have to live vicariously through those of you who are going!

Great update! I'm glad you were able to enjoy a drink at the Dig Site pool. The bar at the Dig Site pool was great!

The GF Cafe was really good, I'd go back in a heartbeat. Try it sometime, I don't think you'll be disappointed. The atmosphere in the Cafe was not stuffy at all, not sure if that is why Mark doesn't like the GF, but if it is, then he's got nothing to worry about. :thumbsup2

Great Spectro pictures! You had a great parade viewing spot!

It was a great break at the pool, just what we needed after a hot day of park touring!

I couldn't believe that I missed our stop on the monorail - total blond moment, and I'm not even blond, must have been the bleach leaking into my brain :lmao:

I was really happy the spot we were able to score so close to parade time!

ooh those drinks sound so refreshing! sorry about the transportation to your dinner but glad it was ok in the end..even if you folks were all sweaty! I was really hating Disney buses when we were running them down trying to get to dinner! I guess it really was our own fault for staying at the pool too long, we just really needed that time to chill and cool off!

The GF is so pretty, I really want to go there sometime when I've got lots of time just to walk around and explore the resort.

Thanks, we did have a pretty good spot for Spectro!

Yuck to hot and sweaty! I have to tell you that one of the reasons we rent is car is for the dinner reservations. I know we could easily take a cab, but its worth having that peace of mind that we can get where we need to go. Of course, even with a car we are frequently late! :rotfl:

I just might rent a car next time, that was a nightmare trying to get where we wanted to go in the short amount of time we had allowed. I love not having to drive anywhere while on vacation, but I really hate that we lose so much time waiting on Disney transportation.

I'd definitely recommend the GF Cafe, it was really good!

I still can't believe I missed that monorail stop - so embarrassing!

If Weird and I ever stay on property, I think the one thing I won't be able to get used to is the transportation. Good thing you guys got there on time though! I like the extra work that goes into that roasted corn part of the dish.

That's the thing about using Disney transporation, you're right, you are either rushing or waiting because you are so early. You can always rent a car though :thumbsup2

That roasted corn was so good, I could have just eaten that for dinner!

Glad you made it to your dinner at the GF!! And I LOVE your Spectro pics!! :lovestruc You got some really good ones!!

I wasn't sure we were going to make for awhile!

Thanks, I just kept snapping pics hoping that some would turn out!

I really wanted to see Spectro again; but our schedule never quite worked out for us to be at MK in time for it this trip. So thanks for the Great Spectro pictures!

And I'm so glad that I ate dinner before sitting down. Your GF meal had me salivating!! Glad you made it there in time!

You're welcome! It rarely works out for me to be able to catch a parade, mostly because my gang doesn't like them, so I was glad to have a opportunity to see it this time!

The GF Cafe meal was one of my favorites from the week!

Isn't Spectro wonderful?:lovestruc I absolutely love Wishes, but I think Spectro is my favorite nighttime event at WDW. You took beautiful pictures-- especially of the train station! I can't believe you were able to get a seat that close to show time!!

Spectro was wonderful! I still think I like Wishes better, but I was so glad to finally see Spectro! I was amazed at the seat we got as well, Main Street was two or three rows deep, but over in Town Square there were seats to be had, go figure!

I know what you are saying about dinner reservations.....it seems that I am always running a bit late after going back to the resort to change etc for the night :sad2: I still don't want to drive though :rotfl: but a cab is not out of the question :thumbsup2

Tracy

I hear ya Tracy, I don't think I'd want to drive either! That's one of the things that I love about a Disney vacation - we can leave the car at home, but I will be taking a cab from now on when heading to a resort for dinner! :thumbsup2

Mmmmmm, Ghiradelli, now that would have made the dessert great! I love dark chocolate, so I was really excited when I saw that option on the menu, and was a bit bummed when it wasn't dark chocolate at all. It was still good though - I ate it all anyway - can you say oink???

I think they will extend the MSEP, it seems a waste to spend all that money to ship the parade out from California just for two months :confused3

Your pork chop looked dilish from the GF Cafe.

No apologies necessary! Geez, if that is really all that needs to be done to stop that flow of oil into the gulf, I'm horrified that they haven't done it! It's a shame what people will allow for money :sad2:

Glad you escaped the downpours!

We were so hot when we left Epcot, the pool was a necessity!

It was a different kind of grand circle tour to be sure.....

I did enjoy Spectro, but I'd love to be able to see the MSEP this summer too - it's not going to happen though. Are you going to do a TR? You take such fabulous pictures, I'd love to see them and read about your trip!

Wow, you got some awesome pictures from Spectromagic! :thumbsup2

How cool you had a good server at the GF too. I always enjoy talking to all the CMs. Oh, and what is up with the Big 12?! We're Michigan fans so I kind of follow the Big 10 and now Nebraska is joining the league! I think now the Big 10 should become the Big 12 since U-N will make 12 teams. haha Crazy.

Great update Michelle!:)

I am another one who rents cars primarily due to the fact that we dine at some many of the resort restaurants. I HATE dressing up for dinner and taking a bus, or standing around in the heat getting sweaty!:scared:

(Stress-free transportation for rope drop and Outlet shopping are also strong motivators for the rental car!;))

I have never been to the GFC - I will have to try it someday.

Great that you got to see Spectro - I think those rumours about it going away permanently for the timebeing just might be right.

Isn't Spectro the greatest way to end the nite. That sound warms my heart!

Looking forward to more!:goodvibes
