Hi Everyone!

I am getting married in the WDW area this May! I have a bunch of kids in my wedding and, since they are from New Jersey and don't get to visit WDW much, I'd like to give them a fun experience in Orlando (preferably at Disney) as a thank you for being in the wedding. The kids are:

Flower Girls- 3, 6, and 10
Ring Bearers- 2, 8, and an older brother "usher" who is 12

All of the kids are in the same family except for the 2 year old.

So far I've thought of... Bibbity Bobbity for the girls, Pirate Cruise for the boys (but I think the 12 year old may be a bit old for it), Tea Party for the girls, mini golf for all....but I can't decide! We are not wealthy by any means, so affordable would be great!

Any ideas? Thanks a bunch! :thumbsup2

Congratulations!!! :cheer2:

How about a day at one of the waterparks?

Ceila,

Thanks for the idea! I was thinking about a water park, but mom freaks out about crowds in the parks...I think she would freak even more about crowds and losing a kid with water everywhere. It's still in the running, though, if we can make it work...

How about the Family Magic Tour at MK? It's a scavenger hunt through the park that ends in a character meeting!

Ooo...fun ideas!

I'll look into the Family Magic Tour for sure. And I know that their dad (my cousin) would DIE for the kitchen sink...LOL, that could be totally fun!

Right now, the best (affordable) option I've come up with is to rent a few Water Mice (I think the 12 year old will be super excited that he can drive on his own!) for the boys and maybe the oldest girl, and then maybe do Tea with mom and the girls? Or maybe the older kids can do mice, the younger play on the beach, and we can get ice cream afterwards or something?

Thanks for all of the ideas...I will def. check them all out! Keep the ideas coming!

I would definitely want to thank not only the kids, but the parents. It is a lot of work to have your child in a wedding (my DD was a flower girl at 4, my DS was a ring bearer at 6, then 2 years later same thing, different family member). I really didn't want to even take them to the first wedding (my DH's sister) as it was in the evening, and they were used to a routine of bedtime by 7 or 8 at the latest. They didn't stay at the reception; my mom came in town and took them home after an hour. It was a huge expense (even in town) for all the outfits, my dress, etc... I spent about $2000 of my own money helping out with things.

I'd talk to their parents, as my DD is a tomboy and doesn't like getting her hair or nails done. 12 years old is way too old for the pirate cruise. Just pointing out that they may or may not like those options.

The wedding isn't at WDW I take it. So, are they staying at WDW, or nearby? Are they planning some park days? The 12 year old would probably like a Disney gift card, to pick out a souvenir. Maybe just do gift cards? Or offer to get them a ticket to the parks, that they could upgrade if they want? We haven't done a water park, as my kids always love the pools anyway. I would be worried about watching them at a water park. At a pool it's easy to keep an eye on my kids.

A cool place for a rehearsal dinner or a family dinner would be at a Disney resort. How about Boma, or somewhere at the GF? Or a girls only tea at the GF?

There's a Disney Weddings Board...not sure if you've stumbled upon it yet? But the girls over there might be able to give you some more suggestions since they're planning, too :goodvibes Good luck with the wedding!
