Little detail.....my mother and I will be traveling by car from Fort Lauderdale. We plan on leaving at 7am on Sunday 4/1. Staying one night at WLV. I want to go to F&G but I also want to go to MK.

Tell me what is a MUST at F&G?
Will any of the MK expansion be open?
Would you do both parks in one day?
Advice?

Hello!

I have no advice to give you as far as the F&G experience goes, as this year will be my first year, as well. I am so excited to see Epcot decked out for this event!

I can tell you that we have done both parks in one day before, and it is completely do-able. Obviously, you aren't going to be able to do everything, but you can do your favorites and enjoy both. We usually start out at MK by enjoying breakfast on Main Street and doing some of our fastpass rides there. Then we take the monorail over to Epcot and leasurely walk around the Showcase and enjoy the food and sights.

Good Luck with your planning! :thumbsup2

The main question would be do you just want to see the different displays at Epcot, or do you want to attend any of the seminars? If you just want to view the displays and enjoy the park normally, then your usual style of touring would work fine. But the seminars are on a schedule, so if you want to attend any of those, you have to plan more carefully.

You could do both parks in one day, but it would be a long day and very tiring, in my opinion. When I only have one day, I stick to one park for the most part (occasionally I will do Epcot and DHS the same day, but usually I'm only seeing one thing at one of the parks, like spending the day at Epcot and going to DHS for the Osborn lights).

Thanks for your post!
I too think that I can do both but I am worried about my mom. I am planning on going to epcot till about 8pm then heading over to MK.

Good point! I am not sure what we will do. This will be our 1st time to F&G. Is there any way to get a hold of a schedule?

Sure - go to Disney's website, Parks, Epcot, Special Events, Flower and Garden Festival. It has the listings for the concerts and seminars there.

Thanks......that will be helpful in making our plans. Any other advice??

Last year was my first year of attending the Flower and Garden Festival. I would agree that if you are just wanting to see the sights and not do any seminars, you can easily do them in half a day. Keep in mind that MK generally opens earlier than EPCOT, but you will want to do EPCOT during daylight hours, so you may want to hop back and forth depending on your stamina and what all you want to do at both places.

When I went last year, hubby was under the weather one day and wanted to sleep in so I headed out on my own and "got my photos" that I knew I wanted. Later in the week I did return with him and got a second chance to see it all again.

Thanks! What I am planning is to leave Fort Lauderdale at 7am, arrive by 11am rest for a bit then head to Epcot. Stay till 7/8pm and then head to MK, which is open till 2am. We will check things out there then head to the room. Get a good nights sleep, go to DTD, then head back to Fort Lauderdale to meet my DH & DS who will be attending WWE Wrestlemania.
