This will be my first cruise. I will be travelling with my 1 yr old DS. What is your opinion on the nursery? staff? cleanliness? Is it difficult to get a ressie? Do they change diapers or do they page you to change them. How often can you use the nursery? Thanks.

For a one year old flounders is perfect!! The toys and things there are geared towards 1-1 1/2 year olds. You bring a diaper bag with you and they will change the diapers. The staff is great, its clean in there and I would have no problem leaving my child there- mine was 2 1/2 when I took her there but after the first time she wouldn't go back because she said it was all for babies. You can book I think 3 ressies to start with it but if you want more most of the time you are able to get them..I dont know if they are doing those ressies online now too but before you would go there right when you boarded to be able to get the first 3 slots you wanted, maybe someone who is cruising now since the onliine ressies have started can help you with that part.

We're going on a 3-day cruise in September with a 18 month old. I've already booked online. I think you can book up to 75 days prior to the cruise. For the 3-day cruise, I can book up to 8 hours. 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm were not available. I'm not sure if they're already booked or if the nursery closes at that time. This is our first cruise too, and not know what to expect, the hard thing is deciding when to put the baby in the nursery.

We used the nursery a couple of times on our cruise in January. I don't know about the 3 and 4 night cruises, but on the 7 night cruises, they have times set aside that you can take your child into Flounder's to play while you supervise them. This was good because it allowed our son to be familiar with the facility before dropped him off to stay. We'll use Flounder's again when we cruise in January!

You also may not know this, but you can take your child into the Oceaneer Club anytime to play, as long as you are with the child to supervise them. Trevor loved climbing in the treehouse and enjoyed all the toys. The staff was great to him - the included him in story time and activities, we just had to be there with him.

Thanks for all of your replies. This helps a great deal. I guess it will be hard planning when I'll use the nursery this far in advance. It's nice to know that I can bring him into the Oceaner Club. This way I can have fun too.

I am taking my dd - almost 2 on the magic in July. I was able to book up to 10 hours online. It was very easy to do and I had no problem matching flounders with my Palo's reservations. The entire process was relatively easy. It is very nice to know that everything is taken care of before we board the ship.

Also, DCL needed to adjust my Palo's reservation by 1/2 hour and they went ahead and adjusted my flounders reservation so that I didn't have to worry about it. I thought this was very thoughtful and didn't mind have my reservation changed.
