Does anyone know what times are hardest to get for flounders?? Do most people prefer evenings?? I'm just trying to sort of plan ahead...... Wondering if I can enjoy Castaway Cay with the older kids and leave the baby on the ship, out of the sun. Am also wondering what the chances would be of leaving the baby on the ship if I booked an excursion??? Any ideas would be appreciated!!!

According to the Friday Navigator (CC day) Flounder's was open from 9:00am - 1:00pm and again from 5:45pm - 12:00am. That makes sense because they don't feed the kids except bottles for the very little ones. You would have to pick your kids up and feed them lunch but it would give you the morning on the island with your older children.

For St. Maarten day the hours were 7:30 - 1:00pm and 5:45pm - 12:00am so you would be able to do a morning excursion. Same hours for St. Thomas. You would need to check the length of the excursion to be sure you would be back in time.

You might check the Navigator's on Dave's site www.dcltribute.com/navigators for the Flounder's times for the Wonder.

Thanks CM-Mom....that helps lot. I just assumed Flounders was open all day, like the other clubs. My baby will be six months old, so I don't need to worry about the feedings. But I'll have to pass on the island excursions this year, and just plan on going to Castaway Cay in the am.... Or take the baby with me for a bit.... I don't plan on using Flounders at night. My older daughter really wnated to go on the dolphin excursion, but may have to wait till next time.

Don't know how old your older daughter is but what about letting Dad and Daughter do the Dolphin excursion while you have some restful time on the ship? My daughter has fond memories of a couple of activities that she and her dad did together when I was either tied up with her older brother or had some other conflict.

CM-Mom....that's a GREAT idea, and I've no problem at all with your suggestions, except that there is no dad!!! I'm a single mom with two adopted children. My older daughter (age 13, special needs) and I did the dolphin experience last summer when it was just the two of us. This year we're taking my 12 y o niece as well. She would LOVE to meet the dolphins. Our newest addition, now age three months, was quite a surprise, coming along long after we had made the cruise reservations!!! As we live in California, and I will be traveling alone with three children, I'm trying to figure out some of the logistics ahead of time!! Obviously, I can't send the 12 and 13 y o's on excursions while I stay on the ship and relax!!! Most likely we well will all be staying on the ship more this time than in the past, but that's fine by me!!!

Jweiss, are you going on the Eastern or Western in August? DD says the dolphin encounter on the Western is much shorter than the Anguilla dolphin excursion on the Eastern. If you're doing the Eastern, DD says she's heard good things about the Atlantis submarine excursion in St. Thomas and it's "Flounder's Friendly".

Congratulations on your new addition! You're more gutsy than I am to intentionally raise two kids on your own. I'm sure your children are really blessed to have a mom that wants them.

Hope you have a truly Magical time.

We're sailing August 21st, the San Juan itinerary, and I'm not even sure whether or not there even is a dophin encounter. We sailed the Western last August, and did the dolphin encounter in cozumel. It was short, but still a great experience.

Don't know anything about the San Juan excursions but you will enjoy St. Thomas as it's absolutely gorgeous. The Paradise Point Tram ride on St. Thomas might be a fun activity that you could do with the older girls while the baby's in Flounder's. We didn't do it but several of our friends liked it and it's a short walk from the dock to where it starts. Takes you up the mountain to the highest point on the island and has a restaurant at the top.
